Basketball Media Day

Right into the second round with a Lottery pick!
Is it really that much fun being a contrarion? Or are you just that bored?

PS - we beat a former top 5 team to get there, and Illinois was the #1 team in the country.
Some folks just seem to have to always take cheap shots at our program… ::)
PB is a loyal fan, hardly taking cheap shots at the program. It was doubtful we were going to go that far with the tough 2nd round matchup, but some thought we could/should. I have to agree a very fun team to watch.

On a side note, it’s still a little weird for me to see a team photo without Bobby in it. I agree with the move we made, don’t get me wrong, but definitly had gotten used to see Bobby on the sideline and in our team photos.

Now what? Dewhurst needs an MRI on his knee already? Geez!

I guess when that is the best you have for your good ol days, you cling on for dear life.
It’s not just the NCAA that year - but the awesome CUSA tourny win. The regular season was awesome too. The flat out destroying South Carolina and Miami are two of the best games I have ever seen in Halton. Sure I wanted to go deeper in march, but it doesn’t take away from an awesome season that year. You know there is nothing wrong with enjoying the good times.

Very memorable moments. I also enjoyed owning the RBC Center in Raleigh that year. I can still see the befuddled look on the faces of the State fans when our lead started approaching 30.

I think we matched up worse against Illinois than any team in the tourney.

I really think one problem this board now has is the fact many of our posters never had good times to enjoy. Those of us that had those experiences seem to have more respect for the school, the programs, and other Niners. SOME of those never having those experiences seem to sometimes have a tendacy to hold that against us that did. That’s just my opinion.

that carolina gamecoc# game was one of the most enjoyable games i’ve ever been to in halton. most of the south carolina fans had tons of respect for our program during those years. we should have beaten them in columbia the year before. but ran into some officiating issues. many usc fans were pissed when dave odom refused to renew the series.

I agree 1000000000000%…well said.

A bit off topic, but Dave Odom most have been terrified to play us. I remember when he was at Wake Forest he refused to ever schedule us and I am pretty sure stated so in the media that he would not schedule us ever. He did the same thing when at USC.
