This was my first time missing it in five years I think. Didnāt watch it online either. The whole event kind of got old to me after the first few times around. We were spoiled with CCIII too so all the ones after that just didnāt really offer anything memorable.
I used to like how they did the scrimmage because at least you got to see the guys play a bit of basketball. The feeling I always got after these things was āWhy do we have to wait another two weeks before the first game now?ā
Scrimmage was my main reason for going back in the day. I appreciate why they do it differently now. I expect theyāll continue to try to make things better. I do like the whole stage on the floor idea (I know they did that last year too).
Why not scrimmage at both MM and fan day? Donāt the guys like to scrimmage? Worries about injuries would make sense, but they could just cut the time of scrimmaging in each. Seems like even the younger fans that would come out for a āmadnessā would enjoy a little actual game play. Doesnāt seem like a big deal either way to me though.
Just read the observer article, sounds like the girls team will be good this year. I have been critical of Major the past couple of years, but I like what Iām hearing about team chemistry and the guys having a good time. I really hope this year is different.
