Does anyone know if we are considering him? They are taking it to Kansas, could be the next Bruce Pearl!
He’s a good coach, but I don’t see how it would make sense recruiting wise. He’s a midwest guy and is probably a top candidate for any future Big 10 or Big 12 jobs, namely Iowa.
He is at the top of my list, but I’m sure he’s Big 10/12 bound.
I’ll tell you this, he pulls out this win and my bracket is destroyed.
IDK, they’re getting pretty hosed at the moment.
Farkomanesh with a dagger… and then the charge
Holy cow what a shot by that kid!!
Wow what a baller shot.
Thats confidence/
New Mexico getting creamed and Kansas losing pretty much ends my bracket hopes.
What a game.
BTW, the Kansas kid crying that never touched the floor? Get off the floor kid.
Wow what a game. I had Kansas losing… in the championship game.
This has been one hell of a tourny.
My bracket had been taken to the woodshed already… this is great stuff now.
Oh yeah. My Midwest is totaled. I had Georgetown and Kansas in the midwest. Its comical, I logged into my CBS bracket and laughed at the 99.1% chance that Kansas would beat NIU. I know those percentages mean little, but its still funny.

you can’t be alone
that Koch kid looks like he walked out of 1950
I like it
I had Kansas beating Kentucky for the Nat’l Title, with Syracuse and Villanova rounding out the Final Four.
FML.
I’ve been pushing this guy for a month now. I agree that he’s almost assuredly B10 or B12 bound, but he was at the very top of my list.
That said, he has some really good players making some shots that Bobby Lutz was run out of town for letting our guys take.
But, UNI plays defense in a way I haven’t seen a Niner team play in forever. That’s due to Jacobson.

the only reason he isnt at the top of my list is because i dont think we can get him.
Before taking over as head coach, Jacobson was the Panthers' topassistant coach starting in 2001, and was a key cog in bringing thePanthers from the basement of the Missouri Valley Conference to thepenthouse. With Jacobson on staff, the development of UNI basketballhas been remarkable. UNI has won at least 18 games each of the past six seasons, thefirst time in school history it has accomplished that feat. ThePanthers have won 124 games since the start of the 2003-04 season, marking the most successful stretch in school history, recording a124-69 over the past six seasons. The second-best victory total over asix-season period is 101, when UNI went 101-37 from 1959-60 through1964-65. UNI has also advanced to the NCAA tournament four times overthe past six years (2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009), including receiving twoat-large bids. UNI also achieved its first-ever Division I top-25ranking during the 2005-06 season. While this is Jacobson's first head coaching job, he had 12years of prior assistant coaching experience. Before joining former UNIhead coach Greg McDermott in Cedar Falls beginning with the 2001-02campaign, he served one season as an assistant coach under McDermott atDivision II North Dakota State. His responsibilities there includedserving as recruiting and academic coordinator. Jacobson has a long history in the North Central Conference, having played at the University of North Dakota from 1989-93. He was afour-year letterman for the Sioux, a two-year starter, and he ended hiscareer as the school's all-time assist leader. UND made two Elite Eightappearances and four regional appearances, along with winning twoconference championships, during his career. He was team captain in1991-92 and 1992-93, was named to the NCC's All-Academic Team in 1993,and was a player representative to UND's letterwinner's associationfrom 1991-93. In September of 2008, his 1989-90 team from the University ofNorth Dakota - when he was a freshman guard for the Fighting Sioux -was inducted into the UND Athletics Hall of Fame. That squad finished28-7 overall, including a perfect 16-0 at home, and finished third inthe nation. He was a student assistant coach at North Dakota from 1993-94.From 1994-96, he was a graduate assistant at UND and became a full-timeassistant coach for the Sioux from 1996-2000, prior to spending the2000-01 season at North Dakota State University. A native of Mayville, N.D., Jacobson graduated fromMayville-Portland High School in 1989 as valedictorian. He received hisbachelor's degree in physical education from the University of NorthDakota in 1994.
no chance, neither today or this past tuesday.
wasted thread. This run, will put him at the top of the BCS coaching wishlist.
I can’t believe Iowa won’t give him everything he wants.
