Wow, SF, I was thinking the exact same thingā¦ (scary)
Max was very versatile - dribbled against the press, excellent position defender, blocked out, rebounded, and an offensive genius. I still donāt know why we donāt utilize him to train our post players. The only guys Iāve seen with moves better than Max in the low post were McHale and Worthy.
Max has never really been around the school much since he graduated, donāt know if by his choice or ours.
Agree he could definitely play the low post, made an nba career our of it.
Never saw Max, so I canāt comment on him, but I do agree with a lot of people here about Henry. He was a Junior when I got here and he was unbelievable. He was literally unstopableā¦and the ONLY weapon we had on the court. He didnāt quite have Plav range but he would shoot it consistently from farther out than I ever saw anyone attempt back then.
He did everythingā¦score, distribute, play D, reboundā¦and was very CLUTCH.
Basden is very high on a very short listā¦but my all-time nod goes to Henry(from my limited personal Niner history from 1990 on).
Heyā¦WHAT ABOUT BUTTER??? NOONE COULD WEAR A HEADBAND LIKE HIM!!

His choice not ours. He has never been and will never be a big supporter of the university. It was tough enough to get him back to honor the 77 team and give out his bobblehead all in the same night. Kind of a shame. And if you hear him on TV/radio the guy always has a giant chip on his shoulder about something or other. A great player and great 49er nevertheless.

Max is the best ever, no one can dispute that.
Wasted brings up a good point. Anyone know why he feels so disconnected from the school? Is it just his style or something?
