I donât think the problem was all about football. He pissed off some potential and current donors. For a program thatâs struggling to raise money you just canât have that.
All I know is we struggled to beat GWebb in year 2 at home. That screamed we have clueless in game coaches. You can be a mentor, shake hands, ask howâs your mother, yada, yada, but on game day itâs business and he didnât have what it took. Nothing is guaranteed, but Iâm hoping to see a huge uptick in game day performance with the new HC.
If coaching solid you just donât have the talent itâs one thing and you tell yourself we just need to wait long enough for the coach to have their guys. That wasnât the case though. This was his team. This was his staff and red flags weâre all over the place. They had the talent, they didnât have the accountability and coaching required to win. Once that is apparent you move on.
No one can argue, we were recruiting talent at a much higher level than ever before. Talent eventually leads to wins. The amount of time we have given to lesser coaches is inexplainable.
We knew Biff would have to learn on the job as he had never coached at this level. We knew that when he was hired but yet we hired him. He was only given 1.7 years, almost unprecedented in college sports. Would we have been happy with a bowl in year 2? Yes, and he was only one game away.
What would have been the measure of success in year 3?
Not going on a European vacation when he should be working?
Bench kids when their field conduct deserves it?
Dress like an adult doing his job?
Not bad mouth fans admin and donors?
Not looking totally outclassed and unprepared by conference peers like Navy and USF?
I dunno how else we can illustrate he was a terrible HC. The problem is these were things we saw j year one and again in year two and they werenât going to stop in year 3. IMO Biff was just going to rely on talent to get wins cuz he could not or would not do the coach things that are required to actually win. Itâs the same coaching model we had with Alan Major. Recruit talent but suck at coaching and accountability.
I think I remember reading that Biff no longer works here. Maybe we should just enjoy the Army Navy game today and think about how we can make the holidays special for others.
His expectations were so high that he took a 6 week cacation to italy while the team was in camp.
He chewed out one of his coaches during a game for jumping on a player that was not doing his job on the field
Key points about NCAA summer practice rules for football coaches:

- No coaching during workouts:

- Strength and conditioning coaches allowed:
Strength and conditioning coaches can design and lead voluntary weightlifting and conditioning sessions.
- No attendance tracking:
Coaches cannot record attendance or participation in voluntary workouts.
- No pressure to participate:
Student-athletes cannot be penalized or incentivized for participating or not participating in voluntary activities.
Depends on when first game is and such but full on practices starts basically 3 weeks before your first game. That was a period Biff wasnât on campus. Leading up to that Iâm pretty sure itâs 20 hrs a week with some walk thru a and such with coaches.
Either way Biff miss some crucial time with the team. I canât believe he was they committed to anything here when he wasnât physically here.
Was he gone during official Fall camp? Those 20 practices before the first game? That is hard to believe.
No. He was present.
Pasted from aboveâŚ

Had we kept Biff and he had a great year next year, all of the above complaints would be forgiven and completely irrelevant. We have a chance with talent and below average coaching. We had the talent.
Good coaching and no talent, we are screwed. I am greatly concerned about our future. I hope I am dead wrong.
Next year could have been, win a bowl or your fired. Now, it is to just field a team.
I started to sour on Biff when he promised Ashley Chastain that he would bring the football team to a softball game and that he would support softball financially. Then, he didnât do either of those things.
Long on promises and short on deliveries.
I have some ocean front property in Gastonia to sell you if you believe those rules are followed in any program in the United States of America in 2024.
I donât think Biff is coming back.
of course he isnât. This program will never grow thinking they can start over every 2-3 years. Hopefully Albin is the guy that can stop this cycle
I just donât get the love affair with a guy that was absolutely clearly not doing the fundamental basics of his job that he was being paid handsomely to do.
The guy clearly converted some of our biggest donors and friends of the program into his corner. Hope we can get them back.
Niners > Biff (or any coach)
Hope people see it that way.
Yeah except all of those above stated reasons, amongst others, are why we werenât really good. They are related and thats tge point. âIf our coach only won more games, nobody eould care thst he has no idea what hes doing.â
Field a team? Everyone is losing players. Do you think we arenât going to sign players? Also, why would biff have ys bowling next year? Based on what?
