Bill Walker loses Eligibility for Senior Season

Seems like the Wildcats GRCOAT is not going to happen. With this happening this almost solidifies Mayo to USC.

Now Mr. Beasley are you going to stick with your commitment to KSU? HAHAHA, karma…

Does anyone have the KSU board close by?

From Draft Express:
While I first caught wind of these two when they were seventh graders setting the Kentucky varsity basketball scene on fire. Hailing from Huntington, West Virginia, the decision was made to send the two phenoms right over the tri-state border to Rose Hill Christian HS in Kentucky for their seventh and eighth grade seasons, so they were able to play varsity basketball. While Walker missed a large portion of these two years due to various injuries, Mayo shined, averaging 23.1 points a game as a seventh grader and 20.5 points a game as an eighth grader while leading Rose Hill to their first Kentucky State Tournament in the school’s history The two then packed their bags and headed west to Cincinnati, where they landed at North College Hill.
Also according to Draft Express, Mayo was born on 11/5/87 and Walker was born on 10/9/87 - 27 days apart.

I don’t get it. Why is Walker declared ineligible and Mayo is not?

This should be some good reading…for the delusional KSU posters that we have on board.

"The differnce between Mayo and Walker is that Walker competed for eight semesters after completing eighth grade. Mayo played varsity since seventh grade, but has not played more than allowed since completing eighth grade.

In other words Walker (who is 19, by the way) must have repeated somewhere along the line after eighth grade to cause this problem. "

^ This post should answer the above question.

cut off date for enrolling in school. October 9th would be just before the cut off date allowing him to start school in August/September 1991. Mayo’s bday is after the cutoff date most likely (in NC, its sometime in early to mid october) not allowing him to start until 1992.

gotcha

thanx

Walker could still sign with KSU even if he is not eligible to play his senior year of high school I believe. He might try to go the prep route if he wants to play basketball this year at the high school level. It would be great though if he also did not end up at KSU. I’m hoping all of Huggins plans blow up in his face.

What ever happend to mayo getting suspended for the rest of the school year? Anything new on that?

they reduced it to a couple of days or actually mayo says it was all a rumor just like he stated that the whole interview he had talking about announcing for usc was a rumor.

we all knew all this would happen…but…this soon? they were laughing in our face when beasley committed to ksu…and we knew we would have the last laugh…but…this soon? awesome.

has beasley decommited yet?

Just thought I’d point out this means Walker is eligible for the 2007 NBA draft. Notice who is already on to that… in their top 10.

Looks like ksu may continue their streak of not making the tournament.

Yea, but at least they will get to keep Huggins longer than anticipated. Who will want him and his baggage if he can’t make the Tourney?

Who’s going to do the news on Channel 9 now?
