What games are they giving out bobbleheads again? Matt said it during the Cable Car, but I canāt remember.
Also, who do you want to see as possible bobbleheads this year?
Iād like to see;Eddie Basden & Demarco Johnson

depaul and cinci
cincy + bobble = lots of trouble. we need to rethink this.
Be odd to give out a bobble of a guy still on the team(I do hope to see an Eddie next year though, and I wouldnāt really mind this year, I just donāt know if they would do that). I guess Demarco would be a logical choice, not really sure what they are planning for the other one though.
Just a couple of rants:
-Why is Cinci a bobblehead game? Bobbleheads = attendence boost, Cincinatti = sold out every year. Doesnāt make sense to me, give them out against Houston to get more people to that game, they know Cinci will be a packed house, the bobbleheads donāt make sense there.
-Why canāt they just quit the bobblheads and put a green 49er shirt on every seat in the lower level? They could probably do that 4-5 times a year for the amount it costs to make the bobbleheads for two games. I know sponsors pay for most of the bobbleās, but would a sponsor rather have their name on a bobblehead on peopleās desks or on the back of shirts that people would be wearing around frequently?
End of rant. Of course I like the bobbleheads, but I would rather see something like shirts, towels, megaphones or ax picks spread over over the season(by the end of the year all of the lower student sections could show up with the same shirt on, with a megaphone in one hand and a green foam ax pick in the other). Just my opinion though.
How about a statue of Plavich hitting the 50 footer?

I agree. Depaul makes sense, but not Cinci.

I thought I heard Memphis and Cinciā¦first 3,000 fans. I think the sponsors want sell-out type games. Maybe someone can confirm.

Iād like to see Mullins and Dinkins.

I couldnāt agree with you more. TCU, Houston, Southern Miss, and St. Louis were all a better choice of games to have bobblehead night at versus Cincy.

I disagree with only the lower level getting them. They already have the best seats. Why should they get all the giveaway stuff too, just for having a lower level seat? If your going to have a giveaway, at least do it fairly like the bobblehead ones are done.
I personally like the bobbleheads, but would also love seeing some sort of giveaway at EVERY home game. You could do T-shirts as you said, and have others like golf towels, foam hands, hats, water bottles, etc. This would get some extra fannies in the seats, reward the regular attendees, and get the Charlotte logo and green out into the community more. People love free stuff, and will wear it/use it more than if they had to buy it. Finding enough sponsors to do this may be tough, but I think it could be done.

They would have to beef up Byronās physique to look like Henryās bobblehead, otherwise the arms and legs would snap off like twigs.
I say do the bobblehead on whatever night you can make the most money. I donāt know if the ECU Clay game was profitable but Iām going to guess it was. We are going to pack it for Cincy regardless. Iām not to keen on the thought of giving out stuff for every game. Bobbleheads are cool and established and I donāt think the other stuff would have the same impact with new ticket sales. A free green t shirt would though for the students and that is where we have the biggest void. What do you current students think we could do to get more fannys in the seats?
I donāt know who the bobbleheads will be this year but Real told me that we will definitely like them. Iām planning on sending Kpigās son one of each unless Real does.
Youāll also get collectors that just come to the game for the bobbleheads, making tickets even harder to get and taking away seats from the āreal fansā (the ones that only show up for this game.) Are you sure they are only giving out 3000? Giving them out on a Cincy game is just a Stupid idea.
I would love to have green shirts given out, but I donāt know that people are going to make more of an effort to go to a game for a shirt. People go for bobbleheads because theyāre collectible and just cool all around.

Mainly it would be for a unified lower level look, which would be really nice to have for our TV games.
The student side of the lower level is given to the students who put in effort to get the seats. Whether through camping, going to other 49er sporting events(the group seating, or frat, section) or joining Gang Green. All of the students down there put in effort, they are the ones who want to be there the most, and they should be rewarded. Like when the cheerleaders are throwing out shirts and they all run up the stairs to the upper levels, how does that make sense? The students up there may have picked up their tickets at the RDH on gameday, while the lower level students all put in some kind of effort to be where they are. Reward those who do the most to get their seats, not the sections that are likely at least half full of people who probably only came because they had nothing else to do.

It would look GREAT to have the lower level all in green for televised games. Michigan State has been able to do it and Wake Forest did it for some big games last year as well as they have the tie-bye idea. A lower level full of Niner Nation shirts would look awesome. Any chances the frats would be willing to change?

[/b]One former frat member has posted here that the frats aren't as stubborn to a change like that as most would expect. He said that if there was something completely unified among the student's down low, they would most likely go along with it. I think most of us here would expect them to take any shirt sitting on their seat and wear it as a scarf or use it as a seat cushion for the whole game, but hopefully we would be wrong.

I know plenty of people who want to be at the games as much as any student, but donāt have the financial means to buy lower level seats. Not to mention there are more than just students who have an interest in the games. If the students are more important, just tell me and I (along with my friends) will go spend our time and money elsewhere.
I agree that shirts worn by everyone in lower level creates an interesting look on TV, but the rest of your points are a little far fetched.
Bottom line on giveaways: Either they go to everyone or they go to the 1st x,xxx people in the door.
Alternate approach, which is not unique to me by any means:
Dissolve Gang Green and use the Student Fees towards printing of shirts to be placed on lower level student seats. Would you find that less insulting, Silvio? Iād think thatād be amiable to most people since those that would benefit would be the ones paying for it.
