guys,
there is no doubt Judy, the trustees, and Mr Smarty Pants Dubois would love to wave a wand and have football for all to enjoy, but everyone seems to be missing the point I've made for 10 freakin years now: they don't want to risk their careers on rolling the dice for it. Its a risky endeavor, and none of them want to risk their positions, hence they always say "its not time." If it were a slam dunk money maker, they'd be all over it, but they all know in order to have football, they are putting their necks out like Thanksgiving Day turkeys. They all want to play it safe, plus who wants to ruffle the feathers of the almight UNC-BOG???
playing it safe has now put us on par with UNCW and UNCG, and behind Appalachian State.
5 years ago we had something rolling, we had a chance to build something, we didnât. Now look where we are. Nobody got fired. Nobody lost their job. It was just completely acceptable. We have no plan for action to get us back to a level with Louisville, Cincy, etc. We have no timeline, no outline, NOTHING. No accountability for the lack of those actions.
Why is there not accountability with that? Why is it not a risky endeavor NOT to start football?
no those items donât equal a quality student. thats not what I said. I said academics alone donât make a quality student. We never sniff the kids who want a complete college experience because they never apply. Lets face it, the type kids who come to school and attach themselves socially are the ones who support the institution long term, travel for sports events, stroke checks, and probably make more $$ as professionals, and that is who UNCC should want. The kids who come to UNCC for school only get their diplomas, and then disappear into alum abyss.
FACT. I have a friend at that works in Charlotte, has three kids that went to NCSU and part of the reason they chose not to go to Charlotte was we didnât have a football program.
That was not the only factor, but it did weigh into the decision. These were top ranked kids from Providence High School. Guess what, they all majored in things that we offer.
BSU had an awesome game.
We have an awesome indoor tennis facility under consideration. Wow! Be still my beating heart.
Iâll write a letter to ESPN & Fox Sports right now. Who needs football when you have the potential for indoor tennis?
If nobody takes the indoor tennis facility as a slap in the face to all of those who put in effort in hopes to bring a football team to charlotte, then you donât have nerve endings in your cheeks.
6 million is a waste of money. If there is that much in this town for indoor tennis there is no doubt there is 10 times that for a football stadium.
Spend a couple hundred thousand, add some lights, build some stands, resurface (the already nice courts) and you can have a nice facilty. The weather isnât bad in Charlotte, NC.
Judy Rose is clueless, and since many say âit isnât her call on football, its Duboisâ then that translates to it was his call on the ITF. Then Dubois is clueless when it comes to athletics at this school, iâll say it right to their face (I swear to God I will - Donnie Baker).
The ITF is a waste of your pride to this program in becomming something better and dollars committed to this schools athletics. I am suprised that she had the audacity to bring it up in a football questions article, then again this is the same voice that brought you âfantasy dollars.â

Just put a tarp over the tennis courts⌠automatic indoor tennis facility. :naughty:
:toast:
Do you care that much about Charlotte 49ers womenâs tennis to build a $60 million tennis stadium?
Woah! Calm down a little there buddy. You got an extra zero in that price. not saying $6 mil is reasonable, just that itâs more reasonable than $60âŚ
Thatâs the funny part. One told me heâs heard weâll have football soon. His friend told me heâs been hearing that rumor for 20 years, then his girlfriend/wife mentioned the Bonnie Cone rumor⌠then the guy that started the conversation said his uncle knows one or 2 of the people Trustees/Supporters trying to get football (he called them âhigh rollersâ). Since this was in Winston, I wonder if he met Jim and heard it from him. Who knows. I thought it was interesting.
I need to change my screen name to jimmy"High Roller"hatâŚ
this years EA sports college football game will feature Jared Zabransky on the cover in his Boise State blue and orange, talk about âbrandingâ. Amazing what a little effort can do.
The Blue Turf played a huge factor in Boise becoming as popular as they are. Brilliant I tell you, Brilliant
I vote for green turf at our footbal stadium. Or better yet, gold, even though it is not one of our official school colors⌠one big plus for gold is that it is not a natural âattractantâ for wildlife like the blue turf was initially for waterfowl, so ultimately that will save on maintenance/cleanup of the football facilities.
Been thinking about the cost of football article released earlier this week⌠If we ârecallâ the $6mil for the Indoor Tennis Facility, then we only need about 2.9mil to get started on football right away. 2.9mil to get the âadvertising/publicityâ that BSU got is a steal!!! And on another note, when are we gonna do something for the golf team? They deserve a âhome courseâ and practice facility that is not in the next county.

I vote for what ever color Geese hate the most, unless its Carolina Blue! As for the âon campusâ golf course, who do you think we are, Chapel Hell?
