Briscoe doesn't get enough playing time

Bitch, bitch, bitch…

Moan, moan, moan…

GET A FUCKING TAMPON!

I was on the Sokool bandwagon until watching the last two games. What I saw there is a Deuce that was ineffective. When he was in the game he was constantly out muscled and out rebounded.

You are right in that he is a scoring machine. Give him 20 shots a game and he’ll make 15 points. However, his shooting average sucks. This is a liability on the offensive side of the court. He also can’t see over his defender and has zero offensive rebounding skills. The only time he does get fouled is when the refs bail him out on some BS out of control shot. You know as well as I do that if anyone gets close to slapping his arm that the shot is getting blocked.

The point is that you need to take your head out of Briscoe’s @$$. Just because you two play hide the sausage together in your dorm room doesn’t mean he can play at the D1 level as well as you talk him up. You make your entire case around how many points he scores which if he were playing a game of horse that might be important. In a real game it is also about defensive pressure and moving the ball on offense. He does neither of these. Green is no better, but I want him to start and play ahead of Deuce for the sole fact that he doesn’t have a one man fan base that hounds NN.N with comments like ā€œGreen needs to start.ā€

Shawn Lester can’t get here fast enough.

Briscoe plays a valuable role on the team. When he’s playing well, he really helps us out.

Getting the fans to tear down Briscoe seems to be this poster’s objective. Don’t let the terrorists win.
Charlotte2002 is right on. Briscoe’s liabilities : (1) Being that short he has to be amazingly quick. He is NOT. (2) His shot first mentality, especially at PG, very detrimental to the flow of the game. The best percentage shots come from ball movement. Watch his passes. They’re usually safe ones that never puts the team in a better position. (3) He constantly misses the open man because he’s so intent on getting his shot off. ( There’s not a stat for that one) (4) Switching off, he continually gets mismatched by taller players and no matter what you say, that’s not good. (5) Since he’s not that quick he has to take chances on defense, hence his few steals stat, but watch, he gets abused defensively as they shoot over him and have no problem passing or driving around. This puts more pressure on everyone else to pick up his slack.
On the positive side, he can score in spurts, and that helps. I’m not a Briscoe hater, I’m just trying to be realistic.
The same team for the Davidson game has disappeared. Arkansas was good and Miami could have beaten anybody that night, so I’m not suicidal like some of you, but I smell a trend. I’m hoping everybody’s negative comments aren’t being read by players and slowly beginning to cause chemistry problems. We have a lot of young impressionable players with maybe the most talent we’ve had in a long time. Let’s give them the encouragement they deserve. ( I promise to be less critical and hope Sokool will do the same)
This post says it all. Good post.

With that said, Briscoe still has the potential to be a valuable contributor and help us win some games. I hope he understands this and continues to work hard at improving his overall game, not just his shooting.

Good to see alot of Baltimore ballers together in Memphis tonight doing positive things with their lives.

Memphis Grizzlies: Rudy Gay, Josh Shelby
Memphis Tigers: Will Barton, Antonio Barton
Charlotte 49ers: Jamar Deuce Briscoe

Happy New Year NNN !!!
Go Niners ;D
