Our first game will be monumental regardless. Itās simply that an atmosphere of a stadium under the lights is hard to beat. Iād like to see the occasion marked by pulling out all the stops.
Will not be disappointed if it doesnāt happen. Just want the absolute optimum environment for Charlotte football.
I doubt they could go through the process of buying and installing lights by August 31st, but I donāt doubt for a second they couldnāt afford some rental lights for the occasion.
The first game should kick off around 3 at the earliest to allow for optimal time for festivities.
Too late for that kind of change I would imagine. Not a bad idea but there is also a lot of value in the traditional Saturday afternoon slot. Our big games under the lights will come in time.
Agreed. Iāve heard that the team will have the lights installed at the end of the first season. So it would seem we will have to go one season without lights. But if we can keep a crowd coming to each noon game, it should still work out well for us.
Every College Football program anywhere plays noon games. We canāt play a 3 p.m. game, because it may go into overtime, and you know how college football overtime can go. If we play at 1 or 2, we have no shot at getting on television, because that would throw off the tv schedule for the whole day. We are trying to get our program on television. We probably wonāt have many games on TV as it stands, but if we move our kickoff times back, nobody will bat an eye at us.
Arrive on campus and serve myself beer while cooking breakfast.
Eat breakfast and consume more beer.
Change over from breakfast to lunch prep and have more beer.
Consume beer while cooking lunch.
Consume beer while eating lunch.
Consume beer while cleaning up.
Head to stadium while drinking beer.
After game, cook post game meal while having more beer.
Enjoy post game meal with any remaining beer.
Go home.
Iāve had 3 square meals, plenty of beer and a Niners victory.

The biggest issue with a noon kick off is out of towners. I mean I am only 30 mins away but noon kickoff will mean I am getting up at 6:30 or so. If you are from Winston or Raleigh or Asheville it is making it tough. I didnāt say impossible, just difficult. The nice thing about the noon kickoff is that I will be home before dinner.
Weāll be leaving the house when youāre waking up. Thatās essentially what it means.[/quote]
For folks farther away it would make sense to just drive down the day/night before the game.

Iāll be flying in the night before. Looks like US Airways has a consistent 8:00 flight on Friday nights.
