I wonder if it’ll be hardscaped or done with plants
clt says the students will be all over the tick tock there
I’ve notice the all in C is painted on the road at the entrance to CRI. Awsome to see some branding around campus. I swear Phil thought campus was a generic office park.
Yeah, me too------kind of hoping for a white hardscape.
I remember when that whole area was woods
Sometimes I go on a deep dive to see what they are planning on building next. I know Gaber has them working on a Master Plan for campus. Thought you guys might find some of intresting. Has some vague info on the football stadium as well.

Used to love me some Master Plans back when I was in school.
This image looks like they want to relocate the scoreboard to the north endzone.
Then they can block out that wide open view of the field…
Lol.
Whether it is the scoreboard or just another video board, accomplishes the same thing.
Would you be so kind as to share the link to where you downloaded that?
It’s from the pdf in the post above. They have some nice massing diagrams for what they have planned, both within the 10-year and potential partnerships after that. They did take out the splitting up of Denny that was in the last Masterplan from 2010. But Cone, Reese, and King are definitely gone in this one just like the last one.
Do you mean the blue field? And yes it is actually blue.
That is the field hockey field. It’s a professional/ Olympic training facility (I forget the designation). Its really bouncy / springy. It’s strange to walk on.
Here’s some info about it:
The USA Field Hockey field, supported by the United States Performance Center (USPC), is located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte). The field and its infrastructures will be fit to house both national teams and provide them with the high-level facilities needed to continue their training for a heightened caliber of international play.
Why is it blue?
On artificial surfaces, the field of play should be coloured green, blue or signal blue. It is permitted for the run-off portion of the pitch to be an alternative colour. The London 2012 Olympics started a new trend for blue hockey pitches because blue turf helps television viewers to clearly see the ball and markings on the hockey pitch during gameplay. Not all hockey pitches have to be blue, but a yellow ball on blue turf is now the standard for professional field hockey tournaments.
Man, that field was my go to spot for years for sprints and speed work in my younger running days. Used to be my favorite spot on campus.

When I think of a library in musical terms, this song pops into my head:
Man has that song and pretty much all of their classic stuff aged like fine wine. As Rick Beato said, they just don’t write songs that good anymore.
Random, what are they building next to the Cookout and near the flying saucer across from campus?
