Why does University City have to be the drop off spot for burnouts and bums? The light line ends on campus and now a Greyhound bus depot.
Seems like that greyhound station in the university area is no longer going to happen because it received so much push back.
Charlotte City Council has given the green light for development of a massive data center in University City.
Rhyne Land Holdings filed a request in January to rezone a 123.8-acre site off University City Boulevard and Interstate 485 to allow for the development of a 2.5 million-square-foot data center and an electrical substation. Council, during its regular zoning meeting on Sept. 18, voted 7 to 2 to approve the petition. PowerHouse Data Centers, a subsidiary of American Real Estate Partners, will operate the facility.

They tried to build a TacoRoos here in Wilmington. The Pandemic and red tape held it up and it never launched. Today it is a Cook Out. This means that the two Cook Outs in Wilmington are 0.7 miles apart and bracket both sides of UNCW along S College Rd.
Never been to Whataburger, but I’ve been to What-a-burger many times growing up. Cherry lemon Sundrops, witch doctors, great onion rings, good times.
I’m with ya! In fact my wife had to run and errand today and when I got home from walking at lunch there was a What-a-burger cherry lemon on my desk.
clt says 8 Gig will work just fine
That’s awesome, but at $150/month, I think my 1 GB is good enough for less than half the price.
If you have a home business or a bad pr0n addiction though…
It always amazes the buzz around a new fast food place coming to town. I’ve ate at the Texas Whataburger while traveling and it is mediocre at best.
What a burger in TX is decent, I’ve had it a few times.
People also would line up out the door for Shake Shack when it first came out which is basically a trendy Wendy’s with crummy crinkle fries.
If there’s one absolute truth in charlotte dining it’s that people are way more influenced by the marketing and newness of something than the quality and taste of the food.
clt says the burgers at shake shack are strong, but the fries aren’t good. best higher end burger fries are?
- five guys
- shake shake
- in & out
Fries should be like 5 guys everywhere. I’ve always been disappointed in shake shacks fries
Undisputed king in my mind.

I’m honestly not a huge 5 guys fry fan. Too often they’re overcooked for my liking. When they’re not, theyre great, but for what the fries cost, I’m not gambling that they’re cooked to my liking most of the time, so I just get a bigger burger instead lol.
The caveat here is that In-N-Out is priced like McDonalds and is half the price of five guys. It is my West Coast burger go to.
clt should have specified cajun fries from five guys, they are the best
I had In-and-Out a couple weeks ago in Tucson, AZ (visiting our daughter who lives there) and it was surprisingly good and their customer service was along the lines of Chick-Fil-A (ie; very good).
Tip----if you go to In-and-Out, order everything “animal style”.
