I’ve ridden this on a bike while commuting to campus. It’s really pretty

Well, this is the section in Pineville. Though they intend to connect the greenway near campus to the rest of the city I don’t think they done so yet.

Northside Christian Academy last year and now another private shutting its doors.

There’s one small gap and one big one.

Can’t wait for the entire XCLT to get done. I’ve ridden from SC into uptown on it. I love what has been done, but I would love to see even more money put into greenways.

Same. I’m waiting for them to open the stretch through my neighborhood that will connect from Providence Rd through Carmel CC and down to the new section/parking lot on 51.

Carmel is fighting it, though. It would run right through the golf course and subject their precious members to the poors.

Oh my mistake Toby Creek. Too many creek names to keep up with

The sections heading to Pineville are gorgeous. Some of those views are just must-see

clt says greenways just lead to more crime!! more lanes, less paths!

Some neat greenway history:

In 1974 the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Commission first studied the feasibility of a greenway system. A master plan was created in 1980 involving 20 creeks and streams. The final report was based on the graduate thesis for Joan Sigmon, a geography major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Same.

I’d love to see the kind of money they want to throw at the rail line go towards greenway and protected bike lanes.

With the rise of electric personal mobility, I think we could remove more cars from the road with infrastructure targeting this. I would ride an ebike around quite a bit if I didn’t feel like I’d get killed on the roads. My friends ebike goes 38mph. That’s faster than I average on my commute to work in traffic anyway

A billion dollars would build a hell of a greenway system

My neighborhood is on the Mallard Creek Greenway and it is one of the BEST benefits of living here. It’s great for walks and I bike it often so it’s nice to have a very long, contiguous route through campus to get my miles in. Can’t wait to see the extension to Pavillion Blvd and south further into the city. Gonna have to step up my endurance!

Not sure if this is your schtick or not but it’s dumb and this city needs more greenways & green spaces.

When in doubt go with schtick.
