Charlotte Business + Development News šŸ—

I see lots of townhomes in UC’s future, in addition to the apartments.

That’ll be the future for most of Charlotte though as land costs are insanely high. My old coworkers husband is a builder. He started by renovating old homes. Then he moved to tear downs and rebuilds. Then he moved to tear downs and townhomes/duplexes/condominiums because he aid the land costs were at the point that he could no longer buy land/old home, rebuild a new one, and sell for under a million dollars and still turn a worthwhile profit.

I live in NoDa. Lot’s of apartments under construction. No condominiums, unless you mean townhomes (most are considered condos from a legal sense, but are setup like multilevel townhomes).

I think they’re mostly going for $500k + now.

NoDa is supposed to have a new grocery store coming soon, which is one of the main things it is currently missing.

Yep that’s what I’m looking at. Around 550k and look nice. Floor plans look solid. About 1800 sq ft. Wondering if it’s as walkable as they make it sound

This is one of the reasons I chose Charlotte. I started out taking classes at NC A&T & absolutely hated trying to find parking & the way the campus was so crowded due to being stuck right in the middle of downtown Greensboro. Charlotte seemed to be layed out so much better, there was plenty of parking compared to A&T & there was lots of room to grow. Hopefully some of these plans near campus will be built & give it more of a college town feel.

Which ones are you looking at? I’ve been in Anderson square. They’re nice, especially if you do the 4th floor rooftop deck.

Those are the least walkable in NoDa, but still no more than 15 minute walk from NoDas core. There ills a distillery, a Thai restaurant, a brewery, and a bar within a 5 minute walk though. Lots of other stuff coming online on that side of noda soon too though, including soul gastrolounge, which is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Charlotte.

The ones I’m looking at say Anderson St and are new construction which I like but makes me a bit nervous. We actually bought a condo in south end back 2019 on Euclid right behind Macs and Southbound but construction was about 1 1/2 behind what they said

I have friends that purchased in there a couple months ago. They were given a fall move in date.

Construction in there is cruising along.

It’s tempting as hell. If I didn’t like where I am in Asheville/Fairview so much it would be a no brainer.

Visited Charlotte this weekend looking at Condos. Tons going on. My fav area was South End. It’s vibrant. Cool, cool area. LoSo is gonna be awesome as well. That’s where I would probably buy if I pulled the trigger.

Can’t make myself do it now, but I see why people like it.

Agreed. Debating on a similar move once the kids move out. I have never lived in a fully walkable area. I kinda wanna try it.

Rumor has it that they’re planning to rename Rocky River Road as Prosperity Church Road II.

Ummm… just me or does this sound suboptimal?

Other projects are being voted on as well… I’m kinda partial towards approving the Greenway extension:
