As I understand it they are moving away from commuter and more toward general purpose given feedback. Original plan was commuter and they need to redo the whole plan to factor all day usage before they can get going on it.
General purpose public transit with a diesel locomotive would be unusual to say the least.
Yep, with the City of Charlotte purchasing the line, wonāt be in same position as in Nashville in which the RTA has to work with and around the freight railroad that owns the line to Lebanon, TN.
Anyway, development has already been happening in North Meck along NC 115 in spite of the Red Line still being mostly just an idea.
The tracks up my way arenāt great anyway. I wonder if they would consider throwing away the current tracks altogether. NS didnāt do a great job of maintenance up in Cornelius and Davidson from what I could tell.
Minimal maintenance by NS with the exception of the relocation of track at Bryton development for the Wal Mart etc at 115 and Eastfield near I-485. Will definitely be a complete makeover.
Just checking an NS divisional timetable and the maximum speed limit for trains on the O-Line between Mooresville and Charlotte is 10 mph. And Iāve seen some moving even slower than that!
Thanks for correcting. Was using a general term, meant to represent commuter train, but can see how it would be confusing.
clt says a monorail to LKN would be more better
clt says this is a sad day, the uptown hooters is closed
UPS selling freight brokerage division to Charlotte based RXO:
How does this affect possibly obtaining an MLB team?
Used to be a regular lunch spot when the office was located in the Interstate Building. Had a regular waitress there who was lots of fun. Asked me to slap her ass and didnāt realize a guy from the regional HQ was in the building.
She only got a verbal warning.
The current ballpark footprint is not big enough for an MLB stadium. MLB stadium would have to go somewhere else.
Whatās the biggest capacity they could make it? Parks are kinda shrinking
Havenāt the knights averaged more attendance than several MLB teams in the past?
Just looked it up and Tropicana only holds 25k now
