Miracle that those refs didnât whistle a foul for
The home team on that final play.
We only had 3 fouls so it would have resulted in another in-bounding by gw. No FTs.
Lots of guys contributed to yesterdayâs win, but I really like the way Brice Williams is playingâŚhis step-back three was so good.
What a game from Jordan Shepherd. Others played well too, but Iâve been particularly tough on him.
Thatâs the Jordan Shepherd we need to win this league.
Glad Shepherd made plays at the end. Thought the game had slipped away when we lost the 9 point lead with bad turnovers and poor defense. Our D had trouble with their PG driving (seemed like guys were waiting for help D that wasnât there) and the immediate slips on the screens. Our automatic hedging will likely continue to be a point of attack.
Williams continues to look better, he scored our first 5 points to get the team going. Both Supica and Rissetto played pretty well. Young finished with 21, 5-5 from the FT line, but missed some wide-open looks from 3, nice to win without an incredible game from him. Shepherd did well this game overall, still had a couple bad passes (though the box score didnât give him any turnovers for some reason), but he did make some big shots, including hitting the last jump shot and go-ahead FTâs. Matos seemed to have an off game on defense, but made some nice plays in the 2nd-half run.
Thought the refs were atrocious. No idea what constituted a foul. While GW got more of the benefit (mostly no-calls), there were some strange calls the other way too.
Young played 38 minutes. Will need to make sure he doesnât wear down too much, he did seem a little tired on D a few times.
It seems like Rissetto does a better job of providing help defense when our guards get beat. He does end up fouling a lot but Supica seems content to stay on his man & let them score layups. Supica has played better the last couple of games but that is one area where I think Rissetto has done a better job.
Looks like the game proved to be the last straw for at least one Colonial:
