Charlotte/Xavier Tailgate 1/28

SCK, are you going to the game after the tailgate or are you going to UC for some tailgawking?

The game.

I can now confirm there will be two, yes two major additions to the Normbulance tomorrow.

What is the history behind Normbulance…I love it!

I’m not NWA, but this thread and this thread should get you started.

Teaser shots of the additions:

Measuring wood for something.

Cutting wood for something.

!!??!?!?!

Thanks!

Wow, what a bunch of drunks.

That I was.

Well game result is not what we wanted but damn what a crowd! We had about 50 people out at one point. We had a great diverse group. One older guy played ball for Charlotte in the late 60s. We also had a group of current students.

I just want to thank everyone who came out today. These tailgates are all about getting NinerNation together and having a good time. If you haven’t made it out to one yet - plan on hanging out Homecoming.

More new faces at each tailgate. This is how tradition starts ladies and gentlemen. Too bad 2k thinks he’s too cool to have a few beers with us.

Gill is the official tailgate photog - I am sure we will have pics soon.

Edit: The rest are available in my Facebook album.

I was looking at the pics of the military vehicle I bid $1,650 on, & it didn’t look like it had a roof, so I e-mailed the guy, & he confirmed it didn’t. I put in to retract the bid as not what I bid on. :’(

I saw a fire truck in Memphis for $1,000, but it doesn’t run. WTF? Screw that.

Usually stuff with a good price is in MA or CA, or somewhere to far to drive at today’s gas prices to get it home.

I’m still looking for a good deal.

I saw a cab of an 18-wheeler that said $.99 in Mooresville, NC, & I e-mailed the guy, is it really $.99. I doubt it, but what the hell.

Hopefully looking longer gives me more time to save up for something better.

Kenny - just a few things to remember. Top speed on many military vehicles is around 45 MPH. That along with the fact that their parts can be difficult to come by should be something to keep in mind.

A lot of firetrucks are made in France and also would present a problem with parts. Both of these could be very expensive choices in the event you needed parts and, unless you are wrenching it yourself, mechanics.

Just something to remember. IMO a SWAT truck or Ice Cream van would be bad ass. Saw a SWAT truck at a Panthers game. Should be able to find one with an american motor, has plenty of room and a decent top speed.

How much is your insurance?

Insurance isn’t too bad - but you do have to make sure they have a policy that will cover it. I almost got messsed up because it came back as a Heavily Modified vehicle. Luckily the VIN though is still just a Chevrolet 3500 Silverado so I was still able to get it on a regular policy. If it is something with a crazy VIN it probably would mean an all new policy which could drive the price up.

I’m sure you’ve got enough in the fanny pack to cover it.
