Chris Lowe, a 6’0 senior Point Guard from Mount Vernon (N.Y.) has a list that includes Charlotte, St. John’s, Hoftra, Rhode Island, Oregon State, Arizona State, UNLV and Clemson. The favorites are Charlotte and Oregon State.
Mt. Veron has a ton of talent. They have dominated NY State basketball since Ben Gordon was there, even winning the federations a couple times beating the top NYC Private Schools. There is a kid there Jonathan Mitchell that has been a stud, think he is a junior going into this season, but I’ll try to verify that. I know Lowe was a good player for them last year as their top player Keith Benjamin who is going to Pittsburgh, who was banged up some down the stretch.
From my experience seeing Mt. Vernon play, their players are well-coached and they have an incredible amount of talent. To do what they have done in the past 6 years as a public school in the state of NY is borderline ridiculous. I would love to have a player from that type of team play for Charlotte.
