These are the sort of prospects we need to start landing. Solid 3 stars with good offers.

And guards. More guards. You can never have enough…guards.

can we have 13 guards?

It looks like we are going to find out. Dan D’antoni might tell us we are on the right track. He looks like a sofa-burning West Virginia hillbilly, but read this, I have clearly underestimated his smarts.

Just reading that 6-9 F Robert Beran of Collegiate School in Richmond, VA took an unofficial visit to Charlotte (and Wofford) on June 7th.

Serious question: (sorry for the ignorance) How is an “unofficial visit” different from an official visit?

There may be more to it…but an official visit the school pays all expenses related to the visit (hotel, etc).

Sounds like one could surmise that a recruit is seriously considering/interested in you if they make unofficial visits on their own dime.

And I think you could surmise that the school is more interested when they are willing to pay for you to come visit.

Geography generally plays a factor. Why waste an official visit when you can save your officials to places that would otherwise be expensive to travel to?

I’m sure moss2k’s post covers it but it’s about more than money and (mutual) interest with official visits. Players are only permitted so many of them and they can only be taken at certain points in the year.

Not only are players limited to how many official visits they can take, so are the actual colleges.

clt says the official visits at lville were something else all together.

I tried to make an official visit to Louisville a couple of years ago, but apparently they had all the slow-footed guys that cannot shoot that they needed. I asked them to send Charlotte a couple, because we always seemed to be looking for more.

ODU offered Caleb Mills.

Per Verbal Commits, Niners have offered 6-7 SF Jalyn McCreary of Kennesaw Mountain HS (GA).
