Class of 2021 MBB recruiting thread

Approximately how many guards do we need?

Was hoping we’d land the 6-9 Akin but hard to compete with the likes of Cal Baptist!

I can’t imagine we’re still recruiting silver and as far as Akin, I’m guessing we have moved on to bigger fish.

We value guards like baseball pitchers. You can never have enough of them.

A Bruiser. A Banger. Throws it down. Just what we need.

Sanchez: runs complicated system that players need time to learn.

Also Sanchez: let’s sign a bunch of guys with one year of eligibility left.

Somewhat ironic that I had been researching Wake junior 6-9 PF Ody Oguama of Raleigh, who entered the transfer portal earlier today. Averaged 7.6 ppg and a team best 5.4 rpg this past season for the Deacs. Moot point now with the Francois signing!

Our roster is pretty crowded at every position now except maybe PG. I’m not sure who our emergency PG would be behind Young and Folkes.

Are we allowed to have a guy that plays above the rim???

Obviously an English major.

Looking over the stats for the “new” guys and see that Trapp averaged 2.5 apg last season, same as Young. And during his junior year in 2019-20, Butler averaged 2.4 apg. So looks like those two could see some minutes at PG.

A sign of a coach with an ultimatum? Win or else? I think Hill challenged RS and his staff to get a deeper roster of talent and athleticism and if the transfers…translate, then we might have a top tier cusa team. Another season of blowout losses and less than 15 wins and Sanchez, with his “system and pillars,” can show themselves out of Halton.

No shortage of athletes on this team.
