clt ponders

clt ponders what if we were on the same run as davidson?

-would the blue fairy fans pulled for us in raleigh?

 • when people searched for info on the u of charlotte, would they confuse us with unc ch?
 • would we get the same love as a lowly 1500 student junior college?

clt would love the attention, but we are woefully prepared to sell our brand. the name change and football HAVE to happen.

We need walmart fans.

If we had that kind of run it would be similar to Xs. We have a conference. I doubt people would root for us like we’re a cute little high school like Davidson.

I also doubt Billy Packer would have mentioned about 20 times anything about our Final 4 run… not the way he kept harping on Davidson making the Regional Final in 1969.

But then again… IT WOULD SURE BE FUN TO FIND OUT !!!

Absolutely! We wouldn’t really be an underdog story. Thats part of the reason I am pulling for them. They are such an underdog. If they win it all, there will be movies made about them. The only way we get in a movie is if someone does a biopic on Clay Aiken.

I think it would be brought up quite a bit.

Funny…and sad.
I think it would be brought up quite a bit.
Yea, but not by Packer, unless he was forced to mention it.

I know that you arent saying this because you actually think they are, but just for the guys out there who really are clueless (and it was evident after last years “you’re a prep school” chant when we were at Belk) - Davidsons academic standards are insane - so if you say something like this seriously referring to their academics, you simply look like an ignorant fool.

They are a junior college. They do not have a graduate program.

It seems as though you’re the only one who looks like an ignorant fool now.

In the same way that it is difficult to compare the Southern Conference to the A10, it is also difficult to compare the academic standards of a 1,500 student school to those of a 24,000 student school. If you compare the top 1,500 of the 24,000 school, then I would say it would be more accurate.

clt asks if you earned a phd at Davidson…errr that is unpossible

but not at charlotte
-would the blue fairy fans wear green Niner wear to the games?
FIXED
FIXED
Of course. We all know the tarhole fans are really closet Niner fans. Every tarhole fan I know has an entire wardrobe of Niner gear.

Just wondering if anyone noticed…if Davidson would have won…three of the teams that get hammered on this board most would have been in the Final Four? I guess no one wanted to talk about it though!

Many would also argue that you could get a better undergrad education at Davidson (of course only in things we BOTH offer). Whether thats true or not, I dont know - but I do know that I know no one who had below a 4.0 and an extremely impressive SAT score in HS that got in, and I have a lot of friends who go to Davidson.

If you compare the top 1,500 of the 24,000 school, then I would say it would be more accurate.

I would be interested to see that statistic.
