College athlete compensation - NIL etc šŸ’°

That’s what people of the realignment boards are bringing up, this could have a larger impact on baseball than football.

Didn’t realize that conferences were obligated to help pay the legal fees per the Alston case. Hmm…

Conference USA: $2,544,644 (6.7%)

How the f@#$#$ is C-USA supposed to pay more in revenue than all but one conference?
Looks like this is based on number of teams, but I’m calling some major B.S. here.

How the hell is CUSA paying the same as two other P5 conferences???

How about they pay based on their level of revenue??

This is the have nots subsidizing the haves.

Damn this seems familiar somehow………

Was it based on how many athletes were involved in the lawsuit from each conference? That’s the only reason I can see for CUSA paying so much.

based on ā€œthe maximum grant-in-aid equivalency limitsā€ for MBB, WBB and FB by school.

So let me get this straight - the original case, O’Bannon v NCAA, was brought on behalf of college basketball and football players. Now, in a loss in the subsequent related Alston v NCAA, the latter is basically saying that the players went from being plaintiffs to defendants. Wow!

BTW, see that the official case decided by SCOTUS listed as Alston v NCAA and American Athletic Conference v NCAA.

Alabama QB Bryce Young gets a podcast on Colin Cowherd’s podcast network. This seems crazy. What happens if he gets demoted in week 3? Seems like unnecassary pressure for a 20 year old.

What happens when he says anything he shouldn’t say, pisses off his coach, the other team, divulges strategy, or team issues, calls out the university, etc etc.

This is a time bomb.

No college age person ever did those things in the history of man.

Was hoping they were looking to quash the growing gap between the P5 and the G5…

Instead, if this gets implemented, I think every SEC school is gonna have a tennis facility like ours and a brand new state of the art softball field.
