That’s a funny quote but it honestly sucks for us. We’re in the middle of trying to play catch up on facilities & now there is this other distraction & draw from resources that could go to facilities. If something isn’t done to control NIL, & bring it back down to what it was supposed to be, I’m afraid it could be the end of college athletics for schools like us. There’s just not enough money & interest to go around & support building facilities that most schools built over the course of decades & to raise money to bankroll competitive football & basketball teams. What happened last week with the coaching search gave me even less hope. Probably just rumors but if coaches really won’t come here without a good NIL package in place to support a team we are screwed.
