OT: Has anyone seen the preview clips of the NBA titles for the 360? Best looking basketball games I’ve seen, had a couple of links to the vids, but they are down now apparently…

I checked those the last time you posted them.

I’m a fan of the NBA 2k series, but damn if NBA Live doesn’t look amazing in HD.

I think that “in HD” part is important though. Wont look that good unless you a) buy the $400 x360, and B) have an HD monitor/set to display it on, with the proper connection gear.

[/b][/quote] The Dell doesnt have 3 cpu cores though, or all the add ons thatc ome with the full package 360. the base model is $299, but personally I think you're stupid to buy it. The $400 one has a hard drive, wireless controller/headset, Live subscription and some other goodies.

BTW, if you have a disapproving wife, show her the XBox Live Arcade demo. If she likes video games at all this will sell her. Bejeweled anyone?

It will be at least as much as the 360 though and probably a good bit more since they are implementing blu-ray technology which is much more expensive than traditional DVD. Some speculation from industry insiders said PS3 games may cost 70 dollars since the blu ray disks cost so much.

I like video games and all, but I’ll have a hard time dropping nearly $500 for the base system and one decent game. Usually you have to buy additional controllers as well, which I imagine will cost twice as much with the new system. I can see the little kids asking for this thing for Christmas: “But mommy, it’s only 400 dollars”. :huh: :unsure: :wacko:

It’s expensive X, I agree, which is why I think they need to make it a fully functional HT machine. Its’ really no longer being marketed to kids/teenagers - it’s too expensive for that when you add in the cost of the games, add-ons, etc.

It is expensive, but when you compare it to teh price of PC gaming, it's cheap. In the PC world, you can drop $400 on just a graphics card. Even then, a game may come along 18-24 months later and you won't be able to play it in it's full glory. That $400 is getting you a console that will play every game that comes out for it the way the developer intended (or at least we can hope :D ).

I’m getting to the point where all I like to play are sports games, although I do have to load up an FPS every once in a while when something really good comes along. The problem with that is it’s getting way too expensive on the pc side to be a casual gamer.

If the 360 can play divx, xvid, etc… I’m sold on it. With it’s architecture, there is the off chance someone might get the Mac OS running on it. Hmmm, a $400 triple processor mac…

The 360 is more than just a video game system. It is going to be the center of your entertainment. I have no problem shelling out the money for it when I think of how much I enjoyed the xbox and how much better this one will be.
