Guess we can watch this instead of ESPN…

They already had NBC Sports Network. They killed it like 3 or 4 years ago (maybe longer, I’m old so time isn’t linear). Everything that was on it shifted to Peacock, USA, or NBC.

Awesome! Thanks my account had that offer too.

It’ll be interesting to see who won the stand-off once the details start emerging.

That would be nice.

clt asks who won?

Assuming no massive spike in YTTV price, the consumer won…

Seriously. I don’t think people understand how much of a win this is for fans of schools like ours (or the entire American conference)… We will now be incorporated into the same interface as all the traditional broadcast channels, thereby eliminating that division.

This puts our product on nearly equal footing as the ACCN and SECN. And we didn’t have to do anything. Huge W for us.

As long as the price doesn’t go up by $40 to cover the cost of Unlimited.

See that discussion text is potentially misleading. It says access to ESPN Unlimited at no extra cost, but then that second sentence almost makes me believe that they’ll do it as an add-on service and some of the content will be free.

The YTTV app won. The American at least kinda won based on that.

The extra cost to watch will determine if the consumers and the American did in fact score a major win.

I’m trying to interpret that to mean all the games will be free. Some of the other content will be as well. I really only care about the games.

Just read another article that said “at no additional cost to subscribers.” But it also sounded like you had to subscribe to those services for them to pop into your YTTV guide. Just that everyone won’t be forced to subscribe to them like other services do.

Yeah that makes sense from a cost standpoint.

So it’s an add on. I wish they’d just say that.

It’s still a victory, and if I’m honest, a fairer one than charging everyone for it.

Yeah, I did a free Directv trial last weekend. The subscription was like $120 but it came with ESPN Unlimited for free! So basically $40 more than YTTV and you’re getting a $40 service with it.

I don’t wanna play $40 for +. The rest of ESPN Unlimited is what you already get with YTTV. I hope if it’s an add on it isn’t more than $12 a month. Would be nice if they could keep it at $9.99/mo, if only for an annual subscription.

Cord cutters is saying it’s truly going to be FREE:

For YouTube TV subscribers, the real game-changer is the inclusion of this premium tier as a complimentary add-on.

That is a game changer. Awesome awesome news. Huge win for conferences and programs like ours. Much more access to potential casual fans (or even rival fans hate or concern watching us).
