Here is CUSA’s current TV deal:
Sports Business Journal is reporting the contract with Fox is valued at about $7 million a year, nearly double the previous agreement with ESPN. Conference USA had already signed a secondary agreement with CBS College Sports. League officials told the Orlando Sentinel the CBS College Sports contract is worth about $7 million a year and runs through 2016.The league’s total television revenue under the new agreements is estimated to be about $14 million a year, an increase from its previous contracts with ESPN and CBS College Sports worth about $9.5 million per year.
C-USA officials confirmed to the Sentinel there still be opportunities for third-tier television agreements with regional networks such as Bright House Sports Network.
I wonder how we fit in to all of this?
Do we get any part of that before 2015?
I’m guessing we get a small percentage of that for basketball.
So how much does each CUSA school make off the current TV contract?

What is A10 tv deal paying us?
I thought we were paying them :
Shows how much of an advantage BCS schools have.
ACC teams make 17 Million dollars, CUSA teams 1.25.
Good god .
I thought CUSA teams got approx $7 mil?
I thought we were paying them ::)[/quote]
I sure hope not. The service is turible.

It really is bad. They are currently renegotiating the contract, though. I have a feeling they will see a significant increase in revenue with Butler and VCU coming into the fold.

I’ve heard several different things. I don’t really know what to believe.
They have multiple TV deals, so maybe that’s why nobody really knows.
They have deals with Fox and CBS. Even the baseball teams get some TV time, so that will be a new thing for us.

It’s still a basketball only league where 85% of the conference averages less than 10,000 fans per game.
(21:37:24) 2k got some updates today
(21:37:49) 2k: stadium and tv deal
(21:37:56) 2k: Temp seating to 17,500 or 20k. TBD. Definitely be built in stages when permanent is done.
(21:38:15) 2k: so expansion will be in stages.
(21:40:02) 2k: when we start CUSA, deal will be substantial (still needs to be ironed out)
(21:40:07) 2k: more than we expected.
(21:40:32) 2k: our “partial” share will be exponentially greater than our full A10 shares.
The networks are not going to pay more for Butler and VCU than us and TEMPLE.
That’s crazy talk.

The networks will pay more for the t.v. deal because 1) the last one was seriously terrible, just a dumb decision by the league, and 2) the league is much better overall right now than they were when the last one was negotiated. Temple/Charlotte versus VCU/Butler is not a huge difference either way for t.v. deals, but the rest of the league will be a big difference, unless they screw it up again.
