From what I can tell reading from the kstate fans…kstate may have shot themselves in the foot. It seems that kstate, who was very high on Keller, started to flirt with another Juco wing in Mario Little. They seemed to think they were getting Little…so they backed off of Keller.
Just days ago…Little ended up signing with the Jayhawks.
New article up on rivals. The ‘teaser’ implies some turmoil in his recruiting.
The important thing is that his list has changed dramatically. Kansas State & Texas A&M used to lead, but now they’ve dropped down to ‘No Interest’ along with Baylor, Oregon State, UNLV & West Virginia.
Rivals list says it is now down to 3 teams: Charlotte, OSU, & OSU. (no mention of Nebraska)

Wow - 129 three pointers attempted/56 free throws attempted. Odd numbers for a big man.

Doh! Oh well, their loss could be our gain. They can just do like before and hire away our assistant coach to get him……
Keller does have one trip he’s taking for sure coming up. “I’ve got Charlotte next weekend and that’s guaranteed because the ticket is already bought,” Keller said. “I’m 85 percent sure I’m going to sign late, but if something there blows me away I’ll think about (signing early).”
Says K State, UNLV and Oregon State can now basically be taken off his list.
Keller did not come; he is reopening his recruiting for the spring. Doesn’t sound promising.
I saw that last night, blh. This is a really strange turn of events. The report on him before this one (from Rivals) said the only visit he was making for sure was to come see us since he already had his ticket.
After passing on several opportunities in the fall, Dominique Keller decided to buckle down, dominate, and let his recruitment play out in the spring. But at the same time, the super-athletic 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward from Lee College in Baytown didn’t think that things would become completely silent. Despite racking up some monster numbers, Keller was surprised that nary a school had been in contact until he recently found out why.
Well, there’s a cliffhanger. Wonder what the reason is?

everyone thought he signed with kansas state when he didn’t. so all the other colleges recruiting him backed off from what the article says.
“Somebody called me yesterday and I also got a text message saying congratulations, and I was like ‘for what?’,” Keller said. “They thought I had signed with Kansas State. But I haven’t signed, I’m wide open.”
Keller isn’t quite sure where the confusion started. Sure, Kansas State was his self-acknowledged favorite from the summer to the fall, but he never made an official visit to Manhattan much less sign a letter-of-intent. Other possibilities such as Oregon State, UNLV, and Charlotte didn’t pan out either but Keller never thought things would be this slow.
“Right now, it’s actually very low-key,” Keller said. “I think it’s because everyone thinks I’m signed.”
