Eddie is POY!!!!

He deserved it. Tough rebounds, steals and baskets when we needed it…congrats to Eddie!

I’ll be leading the ED-DIE ED-DIE ED-DIE cheers from FL on Thursday!

Gratz to Eddie. Well deserved recognition. Now get your game face back on cuz we need you back to February form

Emailed the release link to Penner and Mac. Told them it would be a great way to lead off their show with. Those who can listen see if they do.

I got a chance to listen at 12 when they came on, it wasn’t the first thing they said, they were blabbing about equipment or something, but it was the first sports related news and they also said he was well deserved. They also talked about the all CUSA decade team and questioned why Garcia made it?? Sounds like a good question to me.

Congrats Eddie, much deserved, now finish the season in a fury! BTW, can someone email this to dickie V, put that on your head and wax it, you missed putting the player of the year on your first team!

Wonderful!!! Now after he helps take us to the Sweet 16 and beyond we will need to clear a spot on the Wall at Halton for number Lucky 13!!

Cool…sometimes justice does prevail. No matter what the ā€œexpertsā€ (Vitale, Phelps…) may think, there are still some people who vote with their brains.

My only regret…and it is a subtle one is that Eddie didn’t get more tangible recognition from the school on Senior Day. I know, I know that the school policy says that graduation is a requirement. But I’m not sure if bringing him back for a ceremony next season would have as much impact.

After all, it is a safe assumption that he will be with someone in the NBA. Given that assumption there are likely to be numerous schedule conflicts between the Niners schedule & Eddie’s.

I guess that I just see his jersey retirement happening in a half empty arena vs. UNC Asheville, instead of in front of a sold out arena. Hope I’m wrong.

Congrats Eddie. 'bout time, too!

This chick is obviously an Eddie fan.

Thanks to a Louisville fan over at our rivals board.

Looks like she has a stumpy arm.

Congrats Eddie! Now, lets get back to bizness!

The Jim Abbot of dancing?

Awesome job EDDIE… now time to be a senior and put the team on your shoulders…

Come on pi, you know that Calipari deserved the COY award for not running out of Memphis in the dark of night without collecting his $1 million paycheck.

Way to go Eddie! And thanks for a very memorable season that AIN’T OVER YET!

HP, I agree with you on the calimari thing. One would have thunk calimari and his 11 or 12 wins would have locked up the COY.

I think Pitino deserves it but I wouldn’t say hands down. He took a top 10 team and dealt with multiple issues and still got his team to be right where they were expected to be. IMO there is a ton to be said for doing what you are supposed to despite adversity (ahem USF).

Eddie, noone else has deserved it more. Way to go! Now don’t disappoint me tomorrow!

Interesting (and disappointing) how none of the national websites have picked up the story of Basden winning C-USA POY. I’ve checked Sportsline.com, ESPN.com, FOXSports.com, SI.com, and USAToday.com and none of them has a story about it.
