How do these people get on the board? Are the elected, appointed, or is it like an aristocracy of minimal growth opportunists?

I don’t know, but I hope thier reading glasses are ready, myself and a few others have crafted a 6 page letter to them outling the athetic department problems. It will be emailed tonite once we all agree on the wording.

You have to be really, really rich. And get appointed. Most likely by your really, really rich friends.

And be able to turn and nod your head to one side occasionally and more or less be a bobblehead.

Joe Franco was the student body president. Not anymore. The SB President gets a nonvoting seat on the Board. Don’t email Joe. He wants football, too. He’s a buddy of mine, but has nothing to do with the trustees anymore, beyond knowing them.

Are you sure those are the right emails?

can i sign it?

I have also linked them to the 49er football website, since that essentially is a signature

Metro: Any chance you can send me a copy or post it or something? I like to read what my name is going on… I have my email thing turned on, on my profile.

she uses AOL email? How is she going to listen?

I’ll post it this weekend when its complete.

in regards to ā€œwhat your name is onā€ I was not being literal implying its a signature, but pointing them in the direction of the people who want football. I just want that to be clear.

They are all well aware of the movement to bring football to Charlotte.

They are all well aware of the movement to bring football to Charlotte.

How much is it an issue behind closed doors or in their little circle?
Is it discussed, do you know?

Metro, I realize this may be a typo, but just in case, it should be their. You will probably be taken a little more seriously if you make sure you have no grammatical mistakes, especially since you have a degree from the school.

I would proof read that letter a few times.

One of the nicest people in the world, and…
Someone that could really make it happen:

Dale F. Halton Retired, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company P. O. Box 241167 Charlotte, NC 28224 704-523-6761 Appointed by the Governor, 2003-07

Hate to ask her to dig in her pockets again, but she’s one of the few who could make it happen.

As everyone knows, she is a huge Niner fan and a vocal supporter of our team. I still haven’t met her, but I’ve sat near her.

Why not go ahead and solicit all of them:

Nice Info

  • Can someone pull up contact information for me w/the board of governors (Erskine Bowles)?

The mood on the board at the moment feels quite promising indeed. (rubs hands together)

BTW, Erskine Bowles is not a member of the BOG. He is the President of the University of North Carolina.
