ESPN Preseaon Top 25 Out

Kansas, Wake, UNC, Ga. Tech, Illinois - Top 5

Of note:
Duke - 12
Louisville - 13
Alabama - 18
NC State - 19
Memphis - 23
Cincy - 27
UAB - 32
DePaul - 37
St. Joe’s - 40

I’m biased, but I’d switch us and Cincy. There are a couple of top 25 teams that dont belong in there either.

FYI, here’s this year’s coaches poll roster:

The USA TODAY/ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The 2004-05 board:

Dana Altman, Creighton;
Tevester Anderson, Jackson State;
Eddie Biedenbach, North Carolina-Asheville;
Jim Boeheim, Syracuse;
Charles Coles, Miami (Ohio);
Barry Collier, Nebraska;
Dick Davey; Santa Clara;
Fran Dunphy, Pennsylvania;
Mick Durham, Montana State;
Rob Evans, Arizona State;
Steve Fisher, San Diego State;
Pat Flannery, Bucknell;
Tom Green, Fairleigh Dickinson;
David Henderson, Delaware;
Bob Huggins, Cincinnati;
Johnny Jones, North Texas;
Gene Keady, Purdue;
Eddie McCarter, Texas-Arlington;
Bob McKillop, Davidson;
Phil Martelli, Saint Joseph’s;
Joe Mihalich, Niagara;
Ron “Fang” Mitchell, Coppin State;
Dave Odom, South Carolina;

Rick Samuels, Eastern Illinois;
Kirk Speraw, Central Florida;
Bob Thomason, Pacific;
Perry Watson, Detroit Mercy;
Gary Williams, Maryland;
Dennis Wolff, Boston University;
Rich Zvosec, Missouri-Kansas City.

Not many familiar names on that list. I guess that means Huggy, McKillop, and maybe someone like Boeheim, Martelli, Odom or Biedenbach are voting for us? Plus some random coaches who read Athlon?
