Anyway, he probably had as much to do with Nirvana and grunge becoming huge as anyone else. I watched the show that night and saw the video and was blown away. It definitely felt like a moment. Remember talking about it on campus the next day.

A last post about Glen Hansard. Honestly, I could have posted more - it’s amazing how many (very famous) friends and admirers he had, especially in music… Still a heartbreaking tragedy.

Also during Hansard’s funeral, Bono performed a special spoken-word version of U2’s “Beautiful Day” and played a voicemail from Patti Smith.
It looks like there are two gentlemen from his band The Frames in the background playing Glen’s personal acoustic guitars, including “the horse” (guy on the right) - a Takamine NP15 he bought with money he made from starring in The Commitments (1991 movie) - he played that thing almost into the ground.
