Iowa State is 12-2 under new coach Fred Hoiberg and his staff, including a victory at Virginia Thursday night. No pro- or anti- comments here please, they don’t matter. Just a story worth reading.

Great article, glad Bobby is back on the path to being a Head Coach again.
Saturday January 22nd and Saturday February 19th, these are the days that Iowa State plays Missouri the first on ESPNU the second on ESPN3.com. I just think it should be noted that Melvin and Bobby will be on the court together both of these games.

Nice article, glad to see Lutz is doing well and that he seems to be a great match with the inexperienced Hoiberg. I thought the part about him telling Hoiberg to talk to the refs was kind of funny. I wonder how much Lutz has to recruit, versus the strategy/game management.
This is a team expected to finish last (or close to last maybe) in their conference.
I’m very happy for Lutz that his new job is going well. I hope he once again gets a DI coaching position. I’d also love to see him be our AD at some point, but I don’t foresee that happening as long as Dubois is here.

I’m pretty sure that Iowa State has won less games in their conference over the past few years than Fordham has won in the A10. So it’s not a surprise that Hoiburg is an early favorite for coach-of-the-year in the Big XII. It’s nice to read that Lutz is a big part of that.

Sorry for the threadjack, but just as an academic exercise, it’s interesting to speculate how long Dubois will stay in office. If you set aside Cone due to her exceptional status and various leadership roles, Colvard was Chancellor for 12 years, Fretwell 10, Woodward 16, and Dubois is currently at 5.5 years. It looks like Dubois will be 65 years old in 2015, so maybe another four years to go, for about 9-10 years in office?
Good for Bobby. One thing I liked about this article was they referred to us as CHARLOTTE throughout. ;D Now if only we could get media in NC to do the same. :
I was curious, but not close. This season Fordham is 6-6, Iowa State is 12-2. Iowa State may not be a winning program but they have certainly performed better than Fordham over the past decade.
