Fall Movie Thread 2006
Ok, I’ll bite. Why do you say that. You are the only person I’ve ever heard of that felt that way. Can he really compare to Connery?
Connery is Scottish, Bond isnt. Nor could he convince me otherwise. Brosnan was archetypal, but had the worst run of material any Bond actor had, except Goldeneye.

I liked this new Bond movie, but I gotta be honest, it looked and felt like they were desperately trying to make him Jason Bourne. That’s not who/what Bond is supposed to be, even if it’s good.

Goldeneye was directed by the same guy that directed Casino Royale. After him, it went downhill. I still like Brosnan though, he just got screwed with bad writing.
I wouldnt’ go as far as amazing, but it was one of the better I’ve seen in a while…
Of course you’re entitled to your opinion. But I’d urge you to watch it again, and this time keep in mind that there is no magic in the movie, no “tesla clone” machine, and Nolan is the magician. The title of the film alludes to his magic act on us, the real audience watching the magic show.
The Prestige was amazing. Christopher Nolan can do no wrong. Wow. Can’t wait to see it again.
i thought prestige was very good too.

about the bond movie. one of the better bond movies in quite some time.

The Fountain is one of the best films this year, if not the best film. The critical consensus astounds me since I am one to usually more or less agree with critics.
