What’s wrong with the SMART TVs? Both of mine are old and not smart.
There used to be an issue with them being slow and buggy. They now have cpus on par with decent cell phones and enough ram for effective buffers, and the software has been ironed out. IMO, they’re easier than dealing with an add on like a chromecast, but less flexible, and may not support key apps you want (eg ESPN). I really like LG’s WebOS smartmenu, but they don’t tend to add new core apps to it.
