USA U21 Stats

I could be mistaken but by looking at the stat lines it seemed like martelli was more concerned with playing everybody than giving the top players their time.

I'd say that had more to do with the fact that the average score was USA 101, Other Team 78. In the debacle against Canada, Withers played the most minutes with 32 before fouling out in OT.

To quote Martelli…

Clearly we were the best team here and we chose to have a non-thinking day and it cost us.
And now, to quote Curtis...

This was still a positive experience for me. You have to learn from every
experience, whether it’s good or bad. I can’t say that this was all bad
because I got to play with a bunch of guys who will play in the league in
the future. I was able to blend in with a lot of the players on the team.
It was fun for me overall. I would most definitely come back and play for
USA Basketball again.

It was good playing with J-Gray again. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a chance
to play with him or against him again before it’s all over with, as well
as lot of the other teammates.

I’ll most definitely keep in touch with these guys. Big Baby is the
character of the team. I’m definitely going to try and go down to see him,
I’m going to try to see a lot of players before the season starts. I might
try to take a trip down to New Orleans, and Chris (Paul, who I played with
last summer) is also down there, (Rajon) Rondo is just six hours away at
Kentucky. UConn is pretty far away, but Temple, I’ll see Mardy and coach
Martelli, Flint, A-Ray, I’ll see a lot of players.
