This cannot be said enough. If it was posted 500 times a day, it wouldn’t be enough.
Basketball and football are ALL that matters. That’s the whole job. There isn’t a serious program in the country that would allow an AD with losing records in both major sports to remain after seven years, even if every other sport was winning conference championships.
Its true, and no disrepect to the student athletes in other sports but, to be considered an big time athletic program the only two sports that matter are mens basketball and football, concentrate on what moves the needle
Eventually but if you treat football and men’s basketball the same as soccer, you will not be big time. It needs to be football, then MBB, then everything else way down there
Yes, aware of the pecking order but a look at who wins NCs illustrates P5 usually triumphs. Of the 34 NCAA championships (not counting FCS, of course), 31 are P5 schools.
Basketball absolutely is. The locker rooms are atrocious, tgey dont get priority with practice time. @ninerbasketball16 can further elaborate how poorly theyre treated
Used to be that way. Now that they will have to start putting basketball and football money back into those programs by paying the players it will be interesting to watch.
100% we are behind other schools in the conference with resources. We lose potential recruits daily because we cannot compete. Our facilities, scholarship amounts, meals, all bottom of the conference. This falls on athletics and fundraising. Which is under the oversight of the AD.
That may be the case, but I was responding to a post that claimed we were treating men’s basketball and football the same as soccer. I’m pretty sure the majority of the time and resources we have are going to men’s basketball & football.
That is certainly fine with me because if football is successful, that frees up more for all the other sports. Unfortunately, football has been a black hole for us since we started.
How much longer are we going to ignore the elephant in the room. Mike Hill is killing our athletics department by poor decisions. We cannot take another season of his leadership in any sport.
Our fan base is fractured. Too many people think Mike’s doing a great job because softball and basket weaving are doing well.
If we could get all of our rabid supporters to do a letter writing campaign to the Chancellor, we could make for some real change. I’ll even send in a check for $2,500 to be cashed upon Mike’s dismissal to put my money where my mouth is. But we won’t do that. Lil Ole UNCC just can’t seem to get those darn tricky coach hirings right! Mike’s a great leader and tryin’ hard though!
You guys know i will. I tell people all the time to write hill, or gaber. I wrote hill so many enails that he metwith me so he does read them. We cant just say no one cares. They do not like negative attention soour voices matter
