Got an email from Amanda this morning. She is excited about her season, says the team is coming along nicely. They have the toughest schedule in school history and are coming off the worst season in school history. Amanda says her players are working hard for her and thinks the Gators will surprise a few people this season.
Butler knows how to get games, LOL. The schedule is BRUTAL, 19 home games, including an exhibition but she’ll be facing several familiar foes. For her OOC games, there is a very strong A10 flavor in champion Xavier, Saint Louis and Temple. 21 games against postseason teams last year, 16 against 2007 NCAA Tournament teams. Six teams got as far as the Sweet 16 last season! Florida’s first five opponents were in the NCAA Tournament last year, three of them won their conference championships. Even Florida Gulf Coast (1st year in Division I) was the NCAA Division II runner-up. Fortunately, she only has to play Tennessee and LSU one time each.
