Football Fundraising

As long as these students have eligibility and have never played professionally I see no NCAA issues with this.

I was thinking more of the graduated/young adult crowd. Students are generally broke. If we had some people that never played professionally and graduated in 4 years, maintaining eligibility, that would be ok right?

Now Iā€™d buy that for a dollar!

Pie throwing at CHP, or put him in a dunking booth.
Shoot. That would more than fund a football team. It'd never stop.

I was talking about this tonight, and I still think this needs to be done. At this point, we have something around 1800 FSLs sold. I think we need to be doing whatever we can to get them sold and raise money. Other than the sales teams, I know of nothing else that we, the fans, are doing to get this done. We have got to have some collective free time to do some fundraisers.

So far, the main idea Iā€™ve seen is a type of big fundraising event with:

  • Garage Sale
  • FSL Raffle
  • Auction (Autographed Memorabilia, Donated Stuff, Dates)
  • Bake Sale

Other Events:
-A high dollar casino night (Is this legal? lol)
-Babe Car Wash hosted by our own Over40Niner

Seriously, if people somehow donā€™t already know the details of how you can buy an FSL, and we get them out to a big event like this, that is a ton of people we can inform. Then if they are there with a chance to buy an FSL in person and get all their questions answered, there have to be some people who would buy some.

Raffle off some, thatā€™s a few more.

Auction off some stuff, thatā€™s some more money for us to spend on FSLs.

Garage sale and bake sale bring in some more money, thatā€™s more money right there.

Another idea Cha_49 and I came up with was get some money donated, for example $2000, and take that and sell 10 FSLs on Ebay for $800. Maybe they sell for $800, maybe more. Either way, those are more sales. Maybe the money from the event covers this.

Come on, guys! Weā€™ve got to do something!

Casino night is indeed legal so long as prizes are given away and not cash. We used to do casino themed parties at the country club I worked at.

Tons of people would be pissed if, including me, if people bought FSLā€™s at a discount on Ebay.

What about a raffle? Those people are getting an FSL for $50 (or less).

raffles are ok, b/c the program wouldnā€™t lose money on FSLā€™s should they sell enough raffle tix.

Raffles are a good way to go about it. The only thing is, nobody is going to spend 50 dollars on a raffle ticket for an FSL. Hell, when I was in middle school, we sold 1 dollar raffle tickets for a chance to win a brand new Mercedes.

They aren't losing money. The difference still goes to the program.

I think $50 is too high too. I think it should be $20. But the idea is still very good and something we could pull off and should do.
