thank you satan
THE SKINNY: The Tar Heels, the NCAA tournament’s No. 2 seed, appear to have been rewarded with a less than stellar group. UNC Wilmington was nationally ranked this season but struggled down the stretch. Mount St. Mary’s is making its first appearance in the tournament. Elon won its first Southern Conference tournament title since joining the league in 2003.
Mike, thanks for mentioning us in the article about Clemson and in the article on College Baseball. You’re the greatest. I don’t know what we’d have done without you all these years.

Big day today in Niner Nation. We have our golf team in the hunt for the national title and our baseball team begions their quest for Omaha.

Nice article on Lyerly.

I really dig your new avatar Mike. I didn’t realize you’re a closet Dukies fan.

Isn’t it more of a Duke-State Hybrid? Devil in State red. Or maybe it’s just a picture of UNC BOG’s last cookout.

That’s me, cooking up another conspiracy. This photo has not been digitally enhanced.

Well, I gotta give it to you Mike Persinger. You guys are definitely doing your job these days with this coverage. Atta boy.
That’s me, cooking up another conspiracy.
mike. my neighbor mentioned clemson is in first but did not know charlotte was in top 10 because he just skimmed the headlines since CLEMSON IS NOT LOCAL. he never knew charlotte was in top 10. don’t you think you would have gotten more readers attention if the headlines mentioned charlotte 49ers looking in good shape for making the cut? but thanks for the stories. it would have been a big stink if you had done articles on tarholes baseball and state baseball and wake golf and clemson gold and left out the niners. thanks mike. we can always count on you.

If he didn’t care enough to read the story, I can’t help you.
If he didn’t care enough to read the story, I can’t help you.
why do you constantly make any success we have look like a fluke. you gave wake good headlines. clemson good headlines. and our headlines wednesday made it looked like we were in because we got lucky. never mind. i know the answer. we might gain respect from the locals. that was embarassing this morning. and i had to explain to him he that this **** happens because of the sports editor.

still good stories though and you know we peon niners are greatful to you for any mention you give us.
and our headlines wednesday made it looked like we were in because we got lucky.
Here are the headlines:

49ers fueled by NCAA experience
Charlotte makes 3rd straight trip to national finals

And on the jump the main hed was repeated.

Not sure how those made you look lucky.

And, some phrases from the story:

– “validated their place among top-tier programs.”

– “Charlotte’s third consecutive appearance in the national championship”

– “With each year, the 49ers have seemingly grown more comfortable.”

– "just part of a sustained run of outstanding play by the 49ers. "

– “helped vault them to No. 1 in the national rankings.” (You’ll note that this is higher than No. 5)

– “What once seemed new to the 49ers now seems familiar.”

– “Our guys have played well in these kinds of tournaments,” Green said. “They know there’s nothing they can’t handle.”

Reading comprehension issues, or does making false assertions about what we did and didn’t do just make it easier to bust on me?

mike. i said the story was good. thanks for your continuing support.

did you really tell someone that the niners don’t realize they are just a small college?

That would be a no.

mike. today’s headlines were all about clemson. we were still in 10th and deserved at least a sub-heading. other papers give the local team the headline and the team in first the sub-heading but i gave up on anything like that years ago.

it was embarassing this morning.

If I remember correctly, the front page only mentioned Clemson as far as golf is concerned.
If I remember correctly, the front page only mentioned Clemson as far as golf is concerned.
Says:
College golf, 10C
Clemson grabs second-round lead

Kyle Stanley’s 68 propels Tigers;
Charlotte sitting in 10th place

So, are you telling me we received no golf headlines and were not mentioned until page 10? I’m just asking.
So, are you telling me we received no golf headlines and were not mentioned until page 10? I’m just asking.
No, you were mentioned at the bottom of the front. The full story appeared on page 10C.
