From the Maryland boards...

Rob Moxley to Charlotte as Associate HC. They are in total meltdown mode there as Moxley was considered their best young coach and recruiter.

Do you have a link?

YAY!

he have any good recruits from 07 he might bring along?

I doubt it. Isn’t it rare for a recruit to follow an assistant coach?
:unhappy:

My sarcasm meter has just exploded!!

How did we say the exact same thing??

ohhhh, I would laugh… but I hope it is very rare…

Allie, I am not sure if you’re kidding or not…but I think he quoted you without using the quote feature.

I don’t think so, he said “my sarcasm meter”

Guys on there have their screen names after Mox. I bet they are mad that they have to change their names. What idiot would make a name that they could possibly have to change when a guy leaves.

Me.

Wow, they’re in an uproar over it. They’re right about Gwilliams being difficult to work with. The Assoc Head coach position must be a newly created position with a higher base salary. I knew they were increasing the pay for assistants. Great news!!!

Welcome back home, Mox. We need some of those DC area recruits now lol.

This move has to say something about Lutz’ shelf life here. And although I’m happy Rob is back, I have to say, I hope there are no words like ‘guarantee’ being thrown around. I just like open compeitition is all.

So Kummer will be the #2 guy or will it be Moxley?

Moxley will be head assistant

please tell me it helps with this guy…

I wouldn’t say the program is in meltdown. I grew up with season tickets to the Terps, so I do have some insight on the program.

Gary Williams has always been know to be a bull head to work with, but he takes care of his coaches. Maryland has struggled the past two years, in most part to lack of team unity, starting with that bastard John Gilchrist.

The programs decline in the past two years is due to the lose of Billy Hahn, the long time assistant to Williams. Billy was the water that put out Williams. His alter ego you can call it. Hahn was a awesome recruiter for Maryland. If you go back in time, Maryland has never really landed alot of McDonald’s All Americans or top 5 players, which is very hard to believe considering the high school basketball talent in the state (Dematha, St Joesph, Georgetown Prep). Williams and Hahn always recruited their needs, not the name.

The lose of Hahn was huge to the program. One, as a recruiter and more importantly someone to calm Williams down. Hahn left Maryland for LaSalle, where he quit one year later on sexual assult allegations.

I am excited about Mox’s return, but I also know the affect on the Terps program will take another set back. Keith Booth, former MD star, has alot of ties to the Baltimore area and AAU programs. I don’t see Mox departure turing Maryland from an elite program.

Outstanding news, hopefully we’ll hear on the other assistant coach position soon.
