FSU Pregaming

After much debate here is the plan:

Who: Everyone
What: FSU Pregaming
Where: Dixies Parking Lot/Dixies
When: 11:00 AM
Why: Drinking

This seems to be the best solution. Big parking lot close to the arena with access to a bar with food and drink and warmth. We will fire up the tailgate at 11:00, at 12:000 Dixies will open and we can start going in to get some food and hang out, the Normbulance will keep the party going outside (as long as people are going in to eat I can’t imagine the Dixie’s folks will care), at 1:15 we will do the Ninschlagger toast. We will not be doing any cooking at the tailgate - just drinking and music.
OK So this has been discussed - but seems like no definitive plans.

Here are the options:

[ul][li]Official pregame from teh school is at BlackFinn[/li]
[li]Tailgate in a parking lot close to the arena[/li]
[li]Picasso’s uptown - seems like logic, but it isnt exactly next door to the arena[/li]
[li]Choose another uptown location[/li][/ul]
The problem is the 2:00 tip means many of the uptown bars and locales will not be open yet. I think we all know that once we have dispatched of the Seminoles the post game part can be at Dixie’s which was a blast after the UT game.

Thoughts?
I think options 1 & 2 are the best. The uptown picasso’s sucks anyway. Fitzgerald’s is another option.

I vote tailgate near arena.

It’ll be me, Mrs. Jfickett, and 2 of our friends that are alums from 2011 who usually don’t attend bball games…trying to show them a good time!

Prob looking at between 40-45 degrees. How do people feel about that?

My pregame tix say “whiskey riv” typo?

I was leaning towards going out to eat somewhere for pregame.

For some reason tailgating downtown in 40 degrees for a basketball game doesn’t sound appealing.

Dixie’s

Yeah I understand that 100%.

Here is the Black Finn deal - $10

HotRod said that includes a few drink tickets and food so hard to argue against that. However that link says nothing about drink tickets.

I am thinking about bringing the Normbulance but more just for visibility, parking it somewhere close to the arena and then going to Black Finn.

I forgot that places not Florida tend to be cold 8)

My blood is too thin for that bullshit. Lets find the warmth of a restaurant. We’ll be wherever the party is.

Do we want to do the alumni reception or find our own place?

See my post above for alumni recep info…

My personal preference would be to find somewhere else, especially if that $10 does not include a beer or two since thats all I really care to spend my money on pregame…

Other nearby options besides BlackFinn:

[ul][li]Fitzgeralds[/li]
[li]Connollly’s[/li]
[li]Dixie’s[/li][/ul]

So will Wild Wings, Brix or even hooters be open at 11:30ish? Anyone know?

Most restaurant based places should be open by 11:30. It’s lunchtime on a Saturday.

I would think WW and Hooters will be open - but I am not going to either of those unless all teh other options happen to burn down the night before.

So for a downtown Charlotte rookie like myself… why? I’m going with 6 other friends alums from the triad, just want to have a good time, thanks for starting the thread NWA.

From NWA’s first post

"The problem is the 2:00 tip means many of the uptown bars and locales will not be open yet. "

That’s why I asked the question.

Yeah some of the more bar style places may not be open. most of the more food type of places should be open. Sorry for the confusion.
