Georgia Bulldogs or Georgia Clowns?

Anyone besides me think Georgia’s helmet and unis this year look ridiculous? They wore them last Saturday in their loss to Boise St. I’d be embarrassed more for the unis than for the loss. :’(

Those are pretty bad, but nowhere near as bad as Maryland’s new unis. Maryland’s definitely takes the cake for worst new unis of the year.

I like them.

Marylands on the other hand… ???

That was just a one-game deal with Nike’s Pro Combat line.

They’ll be back in the traditional red-and-black next week.

Boise State, on the other hand… that helmet was sick. I’d love to see the Niners rock a white helmet with a huge green outline of the C-pick on one side. Keep both camps happy… the traditional white helmet side and the more modern flashy uni side.

I think Georgia’s unis the other night were some of the classiest Pro-Combat uniforms I’ve seen yet. I loved them.

49er1, I think is a generational thing. I wasn’t crazy about them either. The “silver britches” have a long history at Georgia. It was strange seeing them not wear them. Plus, I’m not crazy about the school’s name on the back of the jersey.

Those Georgia Power Ranger uniforms were horrendous. Of the combat uniforms I think the TCU ones were done the best. Oregon doesn’t count, in all of this, they are the exception, and can do whatever they want. I actually liked their uniforms they used against LSU.

I hate the school names on the back, it is completely corny. Nothing on the back or the actual players last names, even though the players are not real humans in college.

Mainly it was the helmet. ???

Boise State was boring white for once. They usually have their blue or orange.

Maryland has the state flag on their helmet & shoulders tonight vs. Miami. Way to claim your state. I know we are green & gold, but just one game a year, it would be a nice FU to ASU, ECU, UNC-CH, NCSU, etc. if we did the same on our helmet & shoulders with the NC flag.

Ladies and gentlemen… SCK is now endorsing what Maryland did last night.

There is no excuse for this.

Lew, just as a once every couple of years thing to piss off NCSU, ECU, ASU, & UNC-CH. Don’t you think it would be awesome if we played someone in state with NC helmet & shoulders? I wouldn’t do it against Campbell, even though they’re in state, but if CH ever plays us, it’s on.

We can’t even claim Mecklenburg County yet, let alone NC.

Baby steps.

That being said… if we show up with our helmets made into the Charlotte-Mecklenburg flag, I’d be absolutely giddy.

Well here it is for all you Pro Combat Nike uniform lovers:

You all know Coach L has never been at a school that wasn’t Nike equiped? Not saying Nike is a lock as our supplier but…

Damn. Now Mich St is going to use a gold helmet too. #missingtheboat

Lew I’m 36. I’m too old for baby steps. I need something now.

While I don’t think they market it… Oregon wears the Pro Combat uniforms every week.

We’ve seen what Nike can do with an established (but perennially shitty) program… but now is the time for Nike’s big experiment: what can they do with a complete and total startup?

As much as I love the traditional look… if the kids want to go somewhere to wear an outlandish uniform, I’d rather it be Charlotte than the team on the other sideline.

I have heard that Adidas is in the mix for our Uni provider. I’m not a big fan of Adidas.

I know UTSA has them. Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and NC State come to mind as BCS schools that wear Adidas.

Anything more on this? Like where did you hear this?

basic, bi-colored, traditional, “un-cool” (?) uniforms 38
funky, multi-colored, futuristic, “cool” uniforms 7

Good > cool
