Greatest Movie Scenes Of All Time

I am trying to make a playlist on my computer of the best movie scenes ever. I am having trouble coming up with more than a couple. I know that our combined memories can make a perfect list.

Here are a couple that I came up with:

The Lobby Scene from The Matrix
The “Luke, I am your father” from Star wars
The “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die” scene from the end of The Princess Bride

Now that list is very short and far from complete. So, I was hoping y’all could help me out some. I know some of you do something other than post on this forum.

The scenes where they show female nudity rock! LOL.

The cheerleader on the stairs scene in History of Violence

The closing scene of The Usual Suspects when the cop figures out the story. Actually, the whole movie is incredible.

The scene in Derek’s (?) apartment in Pulp Fiction. “Does Marcellus Wallace look like a *****? Then why you tryin to **** him like one?”

The chase scene in Nice, France in Ronin.

The mirror scene in Taxi Driver.

You can turn a decent thread into crap with one post! I have to say, very few have that talent…

The cheerleader on the stairs scene in History of Violence

I’m sorry I cannot condone any scene from a history of violence, that movie was terrible. The only redeeming quality it had was that it ended.

And he was the first to reply, which makes him doubly talented.

That’s easy.

(It’s only worth opening if you have sound at work so you can listen to the dialogue)

Oh My! YES! What movie is that from?

“They Live” starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. It’s been called a sort of precurser to ‘The Matrix’ in a way.

With not one, but TWO of the greatest movie scenes of all time.

You don’t need sound for this clip. South Park fans might recognize it as “the Cripple Fight”

Isnt that a frame by frame remake of the big fight in Cool Hand Luke?

I like Noreaster’s list. Good start.

Nope. The Cripple Fight was a frame by frame remake of the big fight in They Live. Timmy is told to “Put on the hat!!” in South Park. In ‘They Live’, it’s sunglasses.

I don’t even know some of these, but worth a post…TV Guide’s Top 50

And you’ve got to throw in a couple of "My name is Bond, James Bond"s

yeah, that list will be worth looking at to see if they though of something good, however it is far from definative. I would never have put 4. as King Kong (1933) - BIG APE MEETS BIG APPLE. in fact, it doesn’t even make my list.

Yeah, I didn’t agree with some, especially in the top of the list… Could have been better.

Luke I am your father is good.
And ChevEE is obviously gay.

Final court room scene is A Few Good Men has to be on the list.

The scene with Gordon Gekko and Sir Larry Wildman at Gekko’s house after Gekko bought Anicot Steele. “Let’s say 72.50, since you brought my mother into it.”

There are too many to list, but here are a few:

Pod Race and Darth Maul/Jedi battle - Episode 1
I am your Father - Episode 4
Lobby Scene, also the first scene when they try to get Trinity and they use bullet time (not as cool now, but at the time is was amazing) - Matrix
The first time you see Michael Myers with the piano music
The battle scenes in the LOTR series in additon to the Gollum/Smegol inner dialogue
The sing along in Topgun
"don’t cross the streams" - Ghostbusters
"Snakes, I hate snakes" - Indy
Pulp Fiction scene already mentioned

There are others… will have to think some more.

My personal favorite from Wall Street was the scene when Charlie Sheen first walks into Gekko’s office.

Hey Brett. You mind if I have a bite of your big kahuna burger?

Man, That is a tasty burger!
The battle scenes in the LOTR series
The charge of the Rohirrim at the Battle of the Pellenor Fields in RotK is one of my favorite scenes in recent years:
Theoden: Eomer. Take your Èored down the left flank. Gamling, follow the King’s banner down the center. Grimbold, take your company right, after you pass the wall. Forth, and fear no darkness! Arise. Arise, Riders of ThÈoden. Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered. A sword day… a red day… ere the sun rises.
Eowyn: [to Merry] What ever happens, stay with me. I’ll look after you.
[the King rides past his men, hitting their spears with his sword as he goes]
Theoden: Ride now… Ride now… Ride. Ride for ruin and the world’s ending.
[He stops and prepares to face Sauron’s army]
Theoden: Death!
Rohirrim: [echoing] Death!
Theoden: Death!
Rohirrim: [echoing] Death!
Theoden: DEATH!
Eowyn, Merry: Death!
Theoden: Forth, Eorlingas!
The visual that accompanies that - as they charge, exhausted and hopelessly outnumbered, into a sea of black death, is absolutely amazing. It was also one of my favorite parts of the book. Actually had my heart pounding as I read it.
