we suck
Frustrating. Very frustrating. Nothing less than a victory against ODU can get us back on track.
We just have trouble closing out close games. Thorne’s turnover at the end was huge. He had ample time to put back in the offensive board. We keep digging ourselves big first half holes. Another game that was there for the taking.
Game summary: We suck! Major needs to get his head out of his @$$ and realize that he needs to change the starting lineup to get things going earlier. It is not a new concept.
This. You have to play your best lineups if you want to win.
thorne just needed to call time out. up 3 with the ball instead gave a perfect outlet pass for a layup to a team that struggled to score in half court. same old same old at the end.
I think the fact that we have played so many close games should say something - good teams find a way to win, but the real sign to me is that a lot of these games shouldn’t have been close to begin with. We let this one get away for sure.
That one was a kick in the head. We were getting great looks in the first half, but couldn’t get anything to fall. You can’t pin the loss on one play, but the Thorne TO was a killer. He had the put back too, but tried to pull it out to milk more clock. Just…dang. We’ve had some frustrating losses this year, but this one has to be near the top. >:(
Ga Tech is a bad basketball team. They have one ACC caliber player. They looked more like typical ECU than GT.
Sick of our slow starts leaving us zero margin for error and then the inevitable goof gives the game away (thorne’s TO).
The only time I was entertained all game was when PH had that sick finish and I think an accidental nut tap on that big Cox guy. That was funny. The rest of the game was brutal and ugly. We’ve lost 6 games this season and at least half of them we had more raw talent. It’s ridiculous.
I don’t think we suck.
I think it sucked tonight, how we lost a game to a team we had no business losing to.
This was a pretty bad loss, but so what? We have/had no shot at an at large bid anyway.
Let’s focus on getting better with respect to winning our conference tournament.
Thorne’s play killed us late. Have to find a way to start games better, period.
Drawing parallels to the Panther’s season, this is the Vikings game for us. Time to decide if we are going to tear through this conference or roll into the oblivion of a 0.500 season this year.
Our problem this year is the same as the last three. We start the season looking good and then appear to get worse throughout the year. I believe what is really happening is our teams do not develop through the year, we stay stagnate while every other team in the nation gets better. Thus, we have big wins early, and have lots of bad losses as the season progresses. This can only be attributed to poor player development and poor coaching. A prime example of this is the failure to change our starting lineup despite repeated early game deficits (We set our lineups before the season so why change mid stream?)
Same old same old, need a new coach.
We aren’t winning 4 games in 4 days in Birmingham. This team cant even play decent back to back halves, let alone that many good games in a row. If we weren’t getting an at large, we weren’t getting a bid this season.
This season is over. Just playing out the string now in a bad conference. No NCAAs for PH. Such a GD shame.
The starting lineup we have simply isn’t working.
I’m not saying any of those guys are bad players, but we’ve started off extremely poorly in most of the games we’ve played this season. Time to shake things up in the starting line up. Those guys simply don’t play well together at the start of games.
Digging ourselves out of a hole in the 2nd half every game is no way to win consistently.
FWIW, Gregory changed up his starting lineup tonight. The two guys he inserted were underclassmen.
The two players he inserted were Sampson and Bolden. Together they went 5-11 from the floor, 2-5 3pts, 3-4 FTs, 15 pts, and 6 rebs, and a block. Most importantly, GT avoided the slow starts that have plagued them.

Different day, same results. After 25 years as a season ticket holder, I’M DONE. I simply refuse to invest any more effort or money supporting the BB program until Major is gone. He is worse than Hal Wissel. It is also a statement against Judy Rose who has allowed our program to sink so low.

Then I got the two players wrong. The announcers said the two inserts were froshes. Point being, even Gregory will change his lineups.
