Halton Arena in the paper

Good Morning. If anyone gets the Charlotte Observer in the UC or just looks at it online, they have a 10 years of Halton tribute article in the University City Neighbors section today. I am posting this for selfish reasons, since I am one of the people who were interviewed for the article along with Jason Loy, better known as Jason4Life32 (sorry to blow your cover). Anyway, a good article about the arena and how people had to take buses to the ten different arenas we used to play at back in the idea. Here’s the link, enjoy!!

But in basketball-rich North Carolina, the new arena allowed Charlotte to showcase its men’s basketball team, a member of surging Conference USA, known for its men’s basketball.

ARE YOU ****ING ME??? ARE YOU ****ING ME IN THE ASS???

Are you alright?

With history rich programs like Tulane, USF, ECU, and Southern Miss, its hard to keep fans out of Halton Arena prior to the games…

Oh what I wouldnt give for just one ticket to a wednesday night game against tulane in december over christmas break.

Well, here’s a quote from a good representative of Niner Nation…

[I]Loy says he would be less likely to attend 49er athletic events if they were off campus. “It probably wouldn’t happen,” Loy said, “especially if it wasn’t men’s basketball and if the team wasn’t any good.”

Unfortunately, this is a story that should have been run in January or February.

Our win against Cincy was historic last year? It was a big win but I wouldn’t go that far.

This is Joe Habina’s second piece on the school recently, he wrote an article on the Niner Nation Charity which ran about 3 weeks ago.

Haha you blew my cover doh!

yeah. how about they interview someone who supports the team no matter what

you are correct.

this article may have boosted a little bit of interest in niner basketball if it had appeared during basketball season. so no surprise that they waited until after the season had ended.

Why dont you get over yourself. What I said was true. He asked me if the games weren’t played in Halton Arena I said attendance would probably not be as good. It’s called a report. we’ve already seen one report taken out of context why cant what I said be taken out of context.
What I said was true.
Yeah I know. Thats the worst part

so why are you attacking me yet again?

are you gamer? are you hooligan?

you guys continue to suprise me. all of you get over yourselves. The Observer did an article on the 49ers and you still complain. Also, stop harrassing the other guy who got interviewed as well, it was a report and when he asked me some questions I bent the truth to make the school, Niner Nation, and the team look better. Has anyone heard of being politically correct on this board. For the sake of getting good pub in the Observer, you sometimes have to bend the truth towards what the press wants to hear. everyone just lighten up and be glad that they even thought of doing an article on a mediocre team that can not even fill a 9,000 seat arena. Good Night!!

ok. wait. i jumped in this one late so maybe i missed something. i do not recall either of you being harassed over your responses. and i am all in favor of bending the truth to make our school look good. maybe you should reread this tomorrow after you’ve had a chance to sober up. just kidding.

my only questions were 1) why did this only appear in the university city issue and 2) as hp noted, why was this not published during basketball season?

btw, you should consider yourself very fortunate to have an arena like halton on campus (even though it’s not always full, as you went out of your way to mention). many of the posters on this board are some of the ones who had to travel to our home games in those other arenas.
