Here is some Riley info. 3 offers and none are from us.

Obviously he has baggage we donāt want to carry. Get over it and move on. Believe it, qb is NOT our only problem. It may be halfway down the list.
I was with you until that last part. I donāt think you can name 3 things needed more than better quarterback play.
Our starting QB has the worst rating in FBS: http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/collegeQuarterbackRating/order/false
That 72 isnāt to be confused with QBR. His raw QBR is a 9.2ā¦ Matt āthe human turnoverā johnson has a raw QBR that is almost 5x higher!

But letās be honest, 42 isnāt getting it done either.
Iām not arguing we donāt have other issues, but QB is by far the biggest by a mile.
- Bigger/quicker O&D linemen
- DBs who cover their man closer and watch for the BALL
- A punter who can consistently kick for more than 40 yards
Our defense has been decent this year, so I donāt really know how you can put that above the most important position on offense. Our defense only starts sucking after the O has hung them out to dry time after time after time.
College football is an offensive game, I wouldnāt get my hopes up for a truly elite defense. Best chance to compete is to have an offense that is capable of outscoring the opponent. There simply isnāt that much defensive talent out there and the SEC sucks up a huge chunk of it.
We punt at 39.3 per game. If we increased that only 4 yards, weād be in the top 30% of college footballā¦so again, I donāt think it is really realistic to think that a better punter is really going to drastically change our fortunes. It also would matter less if we didnāt leave our punter punting with an exceptionally long field all the time. Hart isnāt doing very well, but if he were consistently punting from the 30 or 40 yard line, he would pretty frequently be pinning opponents inside the 20-30 yard line on the other side of the field.
Our offense is patheticā¦mostly because of QB play. We have pretty decent receivers and a stud RB. QB is the problem. We are playing guys that didnāt even really have much in the way of FCS offers at the FBS level. I donāt blame them for not being able to handle it, their recruitment shows they werenāt FBS quality. I pin it on our coaches for not trying to address the problem with a JUCO or 5th year player. Lambert said before the season that they had a plan for QB and they were sticking to that plan, but that plan was terrible. It was too soon to expert Barden to contribute and everyone going into the season pointed out our QBs as major weaknesses, so it isnāt like this sneaked up on us. Bringing in a guy to play for 1-2 years while we developed Barden and possibly a few other recruits was needed. With a mediocre QB, we have wins against FAU and ODU and are likely sitting at 4-3 right now. We donāt even need a good one to get to 4 wins with our schedule so far. A mediocre one would have been enough.
Iām not a football coach, and neither is anyone else here, but it was painfully obvious to anyone that QB was a huge weakness playing low level opponents. I donāt know why our coaches thought what we had was acceptable with a huge step up in competition.
