Hofstra message board?

Is there one? I looked but couldnt find anything. I’d like to get some insight from their fans, and of course participate in some friendly smack talk :shades:

the Hofstra board looks like it is pretty active.

Thanks CMack

I tried starting a thread the other day and got one reply last I checked. I also said they should come by NNN. The one responder was just as worried about their frontcourt rebounding as we are. They’re leading returning rebounder is Stokes at 5.1 rpg.

What about a Guelph message board? I feel like talking smack to some hosers… :moon:

I found one for their Astronomy club.

There’s an interesting poll on the A-10 boards about who’s to blame for the sudden lack of A-10 TV games. Commissioner, ALL AD’s, Cable Companies, etc.

This topic has been getting as much attention as anything over there.

Interesting tidbit re: Hofstra, on common opponents in 05-06:

Dec 30th @ LaSalle:

Hofstra 71
LaSalle 70

Jan 11th @ LaSalle:

Charlotte 64
LaSalle 52

since then, they lost their best two frontcourt players to graduation, and we lost Withers.

One of their three guards did not play (Rivera) as well as a few others that did not dress. Gadley, who I think is expected to be one of their top rebounders this year was injured and did not return. According to their message board he appears to be ok though. He did have 7 blocks and 7 rebs in only 14 mins. of play.

I think there guards are as good as we will see all season. Is it their PG who is a potential all-american ?

One pub has them as a sweet 16 team, nice way for us to start the season.

USA Today interview with Hofstra coach:

Hofstra’s Tom Pecora on the Pride’s preseason hopes, coaching close to home

hofstra only scored 69 points in their exhibition, they only allowed 47 though.

I haven’t read much about them, but that sounds like a heavy defense and weak offense. Or the other team had a good defense. If they are weighted like that though, could be a really good match up.

It’s a shame that Hofstra has to lose this early in the season. GO NINERS!!!

From the Hofstra board…

I live in NC and went to the 49ers exhibition game vs some Canadian team (Guelph???). Based on what I saw, our guards will have the advantage all night long. Alexander and Goldwire are pretty good players, but they don't play much D -- which will play right into Loren, Antoine and Carlos' hands. Their point guard looked pretty good, but he doesn't have any experience. We should be able to beat them in transition as they don't get back very fast, at least they didn't against a pretty unathletic exhib team. On the inside its a toss up, but they aren't particularly good rebounders, so its all in who wants it more. I don't see any area where they are better than us. I predict a 75-65 Pride win and I will be there to see it!

I thought we were really good with transition... Correct me if I'm wrong, but Lutz loves to run the ball. Not to mention we were pressing off of our first basket. Certainly our defense wasn't great last Saturday and rebounding wasn't what we have been in the past, but looking at their numbers, I'm not sure they are that much better. Plus I think this guy neglected to notice our threes. Though I'm sure the teaem does and we are going to have to rely on Carlos to be smart and feed out or in or drive depending on the moment. It will be a good match up. I'm looking forward to it! We'll have to prove it on the floor.

Run, I’m having trouble registering on thier board… I sign up and it says that the confirmation code thing isn’t correct everytime, and I know it’s correct. Did you have similar problems? Or NLP?

ChevEE, I’m just a “spectator” on the Hofstra board. I see that jcl has been over there to set them straight!
