Horrible Game Attendance

Well, I guess my ariticle on school spirit didn’t work for this game as evidence of the 7100 in attendance…and I really don’t believe that number. All I want to know is, was there something else going on in Charlotte last night? Yeah, its finals week and all, but that was the perfect break, come out and enjoy a game for crying out loud. It doesn’t require any kind of studying or test taking so I really don’t understand. And, another thing, does the University do ANY KIND of advertising for the Niner games besides putting that stupid Pepsi sign that says “Game Tonight” at the main entrance of the university? We here need to come up with a way to promote these games and get people to go, maybe I should write an article ripping the University a new one…sounds like a plan.

Busy time of year. I thought 7,100 announced was good for GA State, actually. Of course would like to see more. It was a promotion for Youth under 17 free and I saw a lot of youth. Also, if we were 7-0…we’d be a pretty hot ticket. Those 3 points in two losses really HURT.

anyone know what the automatic attendence number is from season ticket and student sections. Doesn’t seem like its ever been announced that it was less than 5,000.

think the fact that 77 south was down to one lane had an impact?

I can't say much as I did not attend last night - chirstmas party obligation.

But the idea that I-77 was bad is a poor excuse. Living in Davidson, going I-77 to Harris Blvd. is not the best option anyway. There are pleanty of back road routes down to Concord Mills Mall which have little if any traffic on them. From Concord Mills Mall you have about 3 or 4 options to get to Halton (29, cut to 49, I-85 to 1-485 to 29 or 49, and I-85 to Harris).

Wait till next Sunday against Ashville if you want to see some truely poor attendance.

In last night’s game the attendence seemed much smaller than it probably was because the crowd never got a chance to get into the game until the second half. The team was playing horriblely in the first half, everytime the crowd started to cheer Georgia St. answered back. And even in the second half, except for a few minute stretch, we couldn’t do more than one or two good things in a row to get the fans in the game. Personally, I never really felt comfortable with any lead we had last night, GS just always seemed to have an answer, it seemed like most of the other fans felt the same way.

Going up against the NFL is never a good idea. Ask nascar.

Lots of empty seats at the tracks due to the NFL???

The Panthers play Saturday, we play Sunday. The Athletic Department did a great job scheduling this game. I know a few people who aren’t fans who are going for the first time.

Kudos on the scheduling.

Kudos on the scheduling??? You’ve got to be kidding…when exactly did scheduling a team like UNC-Asheville warrant congratulatory posts?

Ratings wise smartass.

PI, I think he was agreeing with you. Except our next Panthers game luckily doesn’t fall at the same time as the Niners game.

And the rest of the league plays Sunday. I know people that are not going to our game because of other NFL games and if the Patriots were playing during our game, I wouldn’t be in attendance either.

The post you are refering to was intended for 'udniner42' who made a smartass comment.

Sounds like a personal problem. Not suprised to see where your priorities lie.

I love when the negative nancies post on a topic such as this. If the game was scheduled for Saturday when the Panthers play, they’d bitch about that too.

I couldn’t care less when the Panthers play.
