This is what happens when teams don’t get the player they want in the early signing period. Or if a guy blows up during his senior year. Lots of reasons for that many offers and not really that absurd.

Wonder who our coaches are targeting right now. Last two years they seemed to laser in on one or two guys early on. This year it seems more all over the place.
I am wondering if our move to C-USA is starting to have an impact. It is easier to sell a 2-3 at large bid league to someone, than a 1 at large bid league. Also lets not forget that Major was brought in b/c he knew the A-10 landscape and how to recruit in it. He may end up having some of the same issues recruiting while changing conferences that Bobby had.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the conference change is a big issue. However, the impression I had was that Major and co. sold the school more than the conference relative to Lutz’ CuSA strategy. I would bet our results the last couple of years and the player-coach issues are also successfully used against us in recruiting battles. Need to start turning this around soon.
That said, a lot of schools are scratching their heads over Watkins decision. And our coaches do also pull in some stealth recruits each year. Probably not time to worry just yet.

I don’t recall seeing anywhere that Watkins visited anywhere but Duquesne. Sounds like he has a fellow Canadian on the team that he has ties to.
