LOL⦠This is a joke.
Like JMU, but smaller⦠Fitting.

Iām fine with it.
This fits the general trend of āsmaller but nicerā going on in stadiums in general.
Doubt we ever go past the 21,180 number considering whatās happening with attendance and conference realignment.
Just put up significant, temporary seats like at PGA tournaments. This will add to the atmosphere. Improves the appearance. Liking the progression.
We should all find a way to thank Smoky Bissell for his donation.
Like JMU Stadium for one season. Will eventually get to 30+K.
Seems that some here are size queens when it comes to seating capacity. Thereās nothing sexy about empty seats⦠both pro and college venues have been trending smaller for decades. Empty seats and $5 tickets donāt add much to the bottom line but a modern 4-5 story tower will be impressive.
We have to put something on the student side or else we wonāt have capacity for better drawing matchups. And the stadium will look silly.
Your optimism is inspiring. Are you SURE youāre a Charlotte 49ers fan?
Itās going to look sillyā¦probably for a while.
Must and will get to a reasonable standard capacity (30+K) and will increase our attendance dramatically thereafter.
Seems like you are a size queen too⦠You just like em big and tall it seems
If we are spending 60 mill, I hope Matt Sweirad and the ESPN+ crew are comfy⦠and I hope Judy has a great luxury Suite to entertain in.
Hard for me to imagine complaining about this news, but itās good that there are people with bigger vision to keep the standards high. Iām still ācoming from the bottomā on this topic. I remember playing soccer and football out on those fields and being ridiculed by an old boomer Wake Forest fan because we didnāt have football. Now there is a stadium and football team. They want to make it bigger? Cool!
I get the cynicism about spending $60MM and only getting 3k seats. I am kinda hoping that the plan is to use revenue generated by the suites and upgraded seats to help finance the other side build out.
I am very happy about the expansion and very thankful for the $25MM gift that made it happen.
I guess where I am a #badfan is that I am violently opposed to having a JMU style stadium for any length of time. Not only does it look silly in person, it looks small time on TV because the broadcast side is the only part that is built up and you rarely ever see that. Instead, the cameras are aimed entirely at areas of the stadium we arenāt doing anything to for now.
I am putting faith in NWAs timeline. Hope itās not too far off.
Iām trying to get some clarity if dynamics changed or the story isnāt telling the whole truth.
My concern is we likely were going to float bonds to build balance of stadium. Im worried the current interest rate environment has depressed the stateās willingness to issue bonds to cover construction while fundraising continues and we are instead wanting cash in hand to fund each phase.
That is a very real and concerning possibility. UGH.
Not a fan of building up just one side
Just take the W. Most college football stadiums expand in phases.
So I was on the right path but itās not bonds. Itās construction costs. Prices for construction have skyrocketed. Simply put the 60 mil we have isnāt buying as much as it was when it was announced. Plus Architect estimates were on the low end.
clt looks forward to pounding gold rushes and bojangles in a loge box!
Davidson just announced 100M to improve their library.
I hate we canāt do more but grateful to be making progress. JRS will look much better with the addition. As someone who has given to Evergreen, I am not upset. Agree that smaller and nice is better than large and empty.
